Need sources
[edit]Seeing an IP's activities (most of them devoted for cleaning Lithuanian names from various articles etc.) in order to promote certain point, I would like to see an academic source that Gudovich and Lithuanianised as Gudavičius, as IP trying to prove [1]. Until such academic material is found, such claims constitutes original research, and has no place in the main space of WP. Therefore I removing it. M.K. (talk) 13:05, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
Heh, of course it's Lithuanianised, -wicz and -owski from Polish are rendered -vicius and -auskas in Lithuanian, it's not OR. 131.170.90.3 (talk) 05:56, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
- I am not interested in your original research, instead cite academic material which supports thesis about Gudavicius. M.K. (talk) 09:16, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
- Clarification: why not vice versa? Why not Polish name was Polonized from Lithuanian? Why not both of them came from Russian? The safe, neutral way to way is "Polish version"/"Lithuanian version". - 7-bubёn >t 19:13, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
- It can be from Belorussian, Ukrainian, Russian, you name it. Until proper RS academic source are found OR claims should not be on main space. So far IP's "source" not even close to those requirements. M.K. (talk) 11:27, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
