Worker Dues

[edit]

Not Tata salt specific but they have a good market share. More to the whole industry in India which seems to source 70% of India's requirement from Source http://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/tp-in-school/salt-pan-workers-of-the-rann-of-kutch/article4355337.ece Only Rs.60/- a ton? Even if you give a paise more for every 200gm sold to the end consumer you could give Rs.40/- at least to the marginal workers (after incidental costs and waste). Also showing them how to take care of their health would be noble work too.
