Call management

[edit]

None of the call management features listed here seem unusual or notable, with the possible exception of the contact grouping. Perhaps (but I doubt), speed-dial, voice-dialling, call logging etc were innovative or rare features when they appeared on this handset. The same goes for call divert and the SMS messaging system. I think these two are definitely part of the GSM standard. Centrepull (talk) 19:01, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Repairability

[edit]

The statement about this phone being unrepairable is not true at all. Recently I purchased used Nokia 8850 and repaired it. The phone is easy to disassemble, all of the components are easy to replace and swap, surface mounted BGA chips are easy to rework. All contacts are in swapable blocks and no soldering needed when charger or earphone becomes bad. The phone is even better at repairing than most phones from the same era. Probably chinese guys selling fake or refurbished 8850's have added this statement to boost the sales. I have this link for all other people who want to disassemble the 8850 for repairs http://www.uselessinfo.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/dismantle8850.htm BricksReallyExist (talk) 09:55, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
