Pee Pee Island in meme culture

[edit]

So my edit got removed, it wasn't pp-vandalism, it was just a sentence saying that Pee Pee Island reached popularity in Internet meme culture due to its name. Now yes, I do admit the citation was poor but It was the best I could find. Now, the most popular video of Pee Pee Island in meme culture was the video made by Pewdiepie with 11 million views (at the moment). If we're talking about the history of a relativly unknown place such as Pee Pee Island, then I think that something like that should be noted in an encyclopedia. "not encyplopedic" how is it not encyplopedic? Encyclopedias are supposed to provide general info about the subject the encyclopedia is based off of, or if we're talking about something like wikipedia, general info about everything. And I think something like this should be worth a mention. I don't care what you think about Meme culture, but this is something Major in the history of Pee Pee Island and should be mentioned in it's wikipedia artical in my opinion. This page is probably not visited at all, the only people who would are people who would are looking from the memes or people pressing shift + alt + x. I think this should be added. 2601:206:8200:1C60:41F:E89A:4083:41A (talk) 20:50, 8 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As user:Velella said in the edit summary: "neither notable, nor a reliable source nor encyclopaedic". I agree with that. Meters (talk) 21:26, 8 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request: name origin

[edit]

I researched and couldn't find why the island has its name. I think other people have tried too. Can anyone find a reliable source for it? toobigtokale (talk) 22:27, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion regarding its name and role in meme culture, and how it should be integrated into the article.

[edit]

There has been a past of pp-vandalism on this page, as well as edits being reverted on the basis of supposed pp-vandalism, such as in the case of @Orion64WasTaken editing the page to mention that it is the subject of various online memes. The name, and the memes online regarding it is the most significant feature that the island is known for, and for that reason, many may agree that we should mention this in the article. I, along with others in the talk page for this article, argue that there should be a mature, informative, encyclopedic mention of the online meme culture pertaining to the island's name. I have edited the page to include a mention to it along with a source providing an example of it being used in such a way. Paige00 (talk) 04:42, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree. We should include things based on notability. It's mature to say "people have joked about x before"; nothing immature about that when it's just true. toobigtokale (talk) 04:05, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
