Spelling of "Sassanid"
[edit]Dear PHG, or other creator of this article,
I feel the word Sassanid is a mis-spelling. Mitchiner started this trend by spelling the word Sassanian and a lot of people have used Mitchiner and have thus managed to perpetuate this mistake. But most authoritative sources spell the name as Sasanian or Sasanid as the dynasty is named for Sasan. Let not Wikipedia perpetuate Mitchiner's mistake!

Dear CoinIndia,
you may well have a point here, though transcriptions of ancient names is a tricky business, and total consequence is rarely achieved. But I'd like to say that I've just read dr. Farrokhs's "Shadows in the desert", and he spells the name with two s's. Dr Farrokh is Iranian himself and goes very far to spell Sassanid and Parthian names according to modern Persian standards, so I feel that the spelling is generally well accepted. And Wikipedia's policy is to reflect standard spellings, even if the origin may be dubious. Sponsianus (talk) 21:41, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Validity of "Indo"-Sassanids?
[edit]The article head misleadingly implies that the Indo-Sassanids "were a branch of the Sassanid Persians ", ie that they were differentiated from the Sassanid Persians proper, as opposed to just being another province in the Sassanid Empire. The list of rulers imply that there was a list of Indo-Sassanid rulers, but all the rulers listed are just the rulers of the Sassanid dynasty, who were the rulers of the entire Persian empire and not a separate branch in any way. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.234.110.243 (talk) 20:24, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
Dates of Indo-Sassanid Rulers
[edit]They are mostly wrong... the main articles accessed by the links give totally different dates. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrystomath2 (talk • contribs) 11:24, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
Misleading Map
[edit]The map includes the territories from the 7th century wars. They are striped, but they shouldn't be there at all. It doesn't have any description or legend. The four cities of Indo Sasanians are marked. It's the wrong map to use. 70.109.175.45 (talk) 23:39, 21 September 2017 (UTC) John Dee
