Why?

Article says: "This was typical practice in the Canadian market, where smaller towns might have only a single dealer who was expected to offer a full range of products in various price classes."

I have never understood why Ford dealers didn't just sell some Mercuries, and Mercury dealers sell some Fords, to solve this problem. Simpler and cheaper than inventing two new marques. Wish this article explained that. 96.237.184.133 (talk) 02:04, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
