[edit]- Removed reference to Skinner losing to Othniel Charles Marsh, since that is not the correct individual. Also other reference materials (notably Martis's Historical Atlas of U.S. Political Parties) state that the VT elections of 1812, 1814, 1816 & 1818 were general ticket and elected statewide as opposed to individual districts.
