Notability

As per tag and edit summ notes, I wonder whether additional detail is needed. I'm not sure WP:MUSIC is yet covered. WP:SIGCOV on its own should be enough. In honesty I wonder whether (what might appear to some to be) "passing mentions" in the Indo and IT strictly would strictly meet SIGCOV guidelines. It seems to me that the subject is just starting out, and so SIGCOV issues might be considered subjectively. However, only if other relevant criteria were covered (Namely: awards or noms, chart position, radio play, etc.) While the latter appears to be asserted, it seems a little questionable to me. (No judgement, just trying to understand, but my read is that we're saying that Sunshine radio and FM104 are national stations. On the former, I'm not sure which one we are talking about. On the latter, it is not a national station. Is this just an error? Could we clarify? Frankly it doesn't really matter what the case, but it looks a little off when we seem to imply something that isn't 100%. When some of the simpler statements don't hold-up, it will make the reader (or editor) question other aspects. In addressing these issues, I might point out that WP:COI guidelines exist for a reason, and it might be worth considering those also. Guliolopez (talk) 22:59, 2 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that some of the issues raised above are resolved (certainly the "uncertainty" on the radio play assertion is fixed). However, as noted, I'm not confident the issues wrt Notality/Music guidelines are fully addressed:
  • I still wonder whether SIGCOV is actually met (to my read, there are a few "passing mentions" in news sources. These don't represent broader reviews or coverage events that would typically be required under SIGCOV guidelines).
  • I also wonder whether the specific "yardsticks" of Notability/Music are met (while there is a suggestion of one record getting some limited airplay, I'm not sure this covers what the guidelines expect. And the other criteria (charting/awards/etc) aren't covered.
I still think this is a case of WP:TOOSOON, but would welcome other thoughts. (Though I would ask that editors contributing to a discussion on this make note of WP:COI guidelines, and declare any association with the subject that might be relevant).
