Orphaned non-free image File:The Dublin City Rounders on The Voice UK.png[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:The Dublin City Rounders on The Voice UK.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:38, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Rohan Healy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://beardfire.wordpress.com/about-2/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The article The Dublin City Rounders Alt Country Song Contest has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG, WP:PROMO and WP:CRYSTAL. On CRYSTAL, states "annual song contest", but has only seemingly occurred once. On GNG, the coverage of contest seems to have been limited to those that promoted it (IMRO/etc), and not independent sources. On PROMO, this article seems to fall into a group of apparent PROMO/COI articles on a similar theme.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Thanks for your ideas and contributions. The contest has received national coverage in the Irish daily star and the arena program on RTÉ Radio 1. I have now cited the arena coverage, and if there is a better way to case the star article please let me know.

I have removed annual from the article.

Thanks, please let me know if there is any more I can do to improve the article. Patootik.

Nomination of Rohan Healy for deletion[edit]

Hi there, thanks again for the advice and contributions. I have made a number of changes to the citations which will hopefully strengthen the article. Please review and let me know if there's anything further I can do to improve the article.

Thanks. Patootik.

Self-promotion[edit]

Hiya. Hope all's well. As per the above, I've tagged certain recent articles for consideration (by the community) against project norms. I don't think we spoke directly about it at the time, but you may remember or have been aware of similar concerns that I'd raised a few years back on another article/subject. Also one with which (I understand) you may have an association. In general, and while it may seem that these topics/concerns I've raised are a bit "pointy", I can but draw attention to this extract from relevant guideline and policy:

Self-promotion. It can be tempting to write about yourself or projects in which you have a strong personal involvement. However, remember that the standards for encyclopedic articles apply to such pages just like any other. This includes the requirement to maintain a neutral point of view, which can be difficult when writing about yourself or about projects close to you. Creating overly abundant links and references to autobiographical sources is unacceptable. See Wikipedia:Autobiography, Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

If you have any concerns on either thread, please do chip-in. All the best and happy editing. Guliolopez (talk) 00:06, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Guliolopez, thank you for your contribution to both pages. Yes I had some issues when creating the Dublin City Rounders and David Virgin articles, eventually they met the guidelines and hopefully these will too with your suggestions.
Re the song contest, I can remove annual as although the press material said it will continue each year I see why that could be seen as non factual. There is an article in the national paper the Irish daily star and a piece on national Rte radio 1 program arena from September covering the contest as well. I referenced the paper, and will add the arena reference. Hopefully that will clear things up.
As for Rohan Healy. I think it meets Notability guidelines due to popular reality TV appearances, performances with well know artists and close biological and career relationship with notable artist David Virgin I am happy for others to edit or remove anything they find to be promotional sounding or without sufficient source.
I would ask the community to allow 24 before deletion for me and others to make these edits and updates. Thanks for your patience and advice.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Patootik (talkcontribs)
Hiya. Thanks so much for your note. As you mention, I was indeed happy that the community was able to improve the previous article (The Dublin City Rounders) to the extent that a PROD or AFD review wasn't needed. On the more recent additions, while it's great that you've started to address some of the issues raised (thanks so much for that BTW), I'm not sure in particular that this one meets the relevant criteria (as per the notes added to the AfD discussion thread, WP:COI issues notwithstanding, it seems to be a case of WP:TOOSOON and the "inheritance" criteria. Put simply, just because a band may meet NN criteria, not every member will.) If you do spend a little more time on that one in particular, please do make sure to add a note to the AfD discussion. All the best. Guliolopez (talk) 01:32, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
