EveryDollar is a personal financial management website and mobile app for the United States produced by Dave Ramsey’s Ramsey Solutions (which also produces The Ramsey Show). [1] [2]

Starting in 2005 as Gazelle Budget on Dave Ramsey’s mytotalmoneymakeover.com, EveryDollar officially launched in 2015 and surpassed 1 million users in 2016.[2]

Overview

EveryDollar was created by “personal finance expert Dave Ramsey to help people take control of their money so that they can pay off debt and save for the future.”[2] It is a personal budget alternative to spreadsheets that allows users to closely monitor and track their spending. [3]

EveryDollar uses the zero-based budgeting method, where users give a job to every dollar and keep track of where all their money is going. [4] This approach “can help prevent overspending and ensure every dollar has a purpose” as users put all of their income “toward something specific.” [5] [6]

Users can sign up for either a free or paid version. [7] In the free version, users can create budgets and track spending. [8] In the paid version, users have access to custom reports, and bank connectivity, which allows transactions to import into the budget.[7]
