- Comment: Better than last time--but this does not read like the biography of a person; it's really just a few highlights from someone's resume. It also needs proper formatting, in line with our conventions. And get rid of discogs--it doesn't help. We need secondary sources, particularly also for his academic career. - Comment: As a named chair at the University of New Orleans, Seeger meets the criteria for inclusion, but the exhaustive list of performance credits is just promotional and really serves no encyclopedic purpose. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 21:36, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

Brian Seeger is a guitarist, composer, producer, recording engineer, bandleader and educator. He was appointed Coca-Cola Endowed Chair in American Jazz Studies[1] at the University of New Orleans in 2023.
Musical Career
Seeger played his first professional gigs as a young teen in New Jersey. Before his senior year of high school, his family moved to Florida.[2] Seeger attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida.[3] In the mid-80s, he traveled abroad for several years, performing as a street musician.[2] Upon returning to the US in 1987, Seeger moved to Boston to complete a degree in Guitar Performance at the Berklee College of Music.[4]
Seeger moved to New Orleans in 1991 and began performing and touring with many New Orleans artists, including Davell Crawford, Aaron Neville and Stanton Moore. Seeger was part of Moore's first solo project, Moore and More, and composed many pieces for the group.[5] He appeared on Moore's first two solo records All Kooked Out![6] and Flyin' the Koop[7]. Other bands Seeger was a part of at this time was Quintology[8], the New World Funk Ensemble[9], Neslort[10] and Theresa Andersson.[11][12]
The early 2000's found Seeger performing more as a bandleader and increasingly producing records for other artists.[13][14]
Since 2010, Seeger has primarily worked with the Organic Trio[15][16][17], Cindy Scott[18][19] and Brad Walker[20][21], producing several records for all of these artists, as well as performing and writing music for them.
Academic Career
Seeger is a full professor in the Music Department of the University of New Orleans and holds the Coca-Cola Endowed Chair in American Jazz Studies.[1][22] He has been part of the full-time faculty at UNO since 2008. Before that, Seeger was adjunct faculty at the University of New Orleans, Loyola University New Orleans[23] and Delgado Community College. He taught at numerous National Guitar Workshop sessions, and has led workshops and clinics for students around the world.[24][25]
Seeger holds a Masters of Music from the University of New Orleans, a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music, and a Bachelor of Arts from Stockton University.
