How we should be acting here

These people say it better than I can.

  • "It is wrong to waste the precious gift of time on acrimony and division" — Joseph Cardinal Bernardin.
  • "True compassion is not just an emotional response but a firm commitment founded on reason. Therefore, a truly compassionate attitude towards others does not change even if they behave negatively" — Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama
  • "You must be the change you wish to see in the world" — Mahatma Gandhi
  • "You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one" — John Lennon

Interests

Although I don't necessarily edit articles on all these subjects, I would like to, given the time, and possibly someday I will:

Wikipedia

My view is that everyone is a Wikipedian, we're all trying to make this project better, and although we may have different views on what better is, playing politics is not it. I'm also currently trying to get more into the development side of mediawiki, since I have to be realistic: I can probably do more good writing code than writing prose.

I am pro:

I am against:

Licensing

Basically, do what you like with my work, so long as you acknowledge the original authorship. I'm not opposed to just dumping everything in the public domain, but as a philosophical point, I think people have the right to assert authorship of their work (even if not necessarily the other things copyright provides for), hence I'm licensing my work this way.

Multi-licensed with all Creative Commons Attribution Licenses
I agree to multi-license my text contributions, unless otherwise stated, under Wikipedia's copyright terms and the Creative Commons licenses by-sa v1.0, by v2.0, by-nd v2.0, by-nc v2.0, by-nc-nd v2.0, by-nc-sa v2.0, and by-sa v2.0. Please be aware that other contributors might not do the same, so if you want to use my contributions under alternate licensing, please check the CC dual-license and Multi-licensing guides.

Bias

You can't counter your biases unless you know what they are, so here are mine:

Your say

I ask that you leave any messages to me on my talk page. I also ask that you leave the top part of my user page intact (you're welcome to fix links, spelling, etc. but please don't change the semantics). However, you're welcome to write something about me below this line, user pages are editable by everyone for a reason!
