Bangkok Patana School or "BPS" is a British International School located in Bangkok, Thailand on Soi Lasalle, in the district of Bang Na.

School emphasize development

Students - Pre elementary level We importance that students will be ready in every skill. Development and suitable for curriculum to be the best for living and sociality happily. - Primary level We teach the students to learn how to develop themselves and join the activities with happiness, they will know how to think, how to do and how to solve problem with moral and discipline


Teachers and officers Develop all teachers to be good psychologist who can help the students to help them having creative thought. And they also know how to manage education and can be good sample for Education and moral and also will be accepted by parents and communities and also develop themselves to be a professor and get a good insurance

History

Founded in 1957 by expatriate Rosamund Stuezel because of the lack of British education in Bangkok, the school quickly rose to prominence as a preparatory school[citation needed]. It is Bangkok's first largest international school in area next to International School of Bangkok, and has a population of about 2,100 students, from Nursery to Year 13. Most of their graduates have been accepted to college, mainly in the UK, US, and Australia, with some going to Asian or European universities.

Education

Bangkok Patana School is the British International School of Bangkok. It uses the British schooling system up to and including year 11, which ends with the IGCSE examinations. At Keystage 5 it offers the IB Diploma instead of the A Levels.

The school is divided into a Primary (Kindergarten-Year 6) and Secondary school (Year 7-Year 13).

Bangkok Patana School is affiliated to the Council of International Schools and has just been re-accredited. BPS is one of Bangkok’s most popular international schools which has long waiting lists for Thai citizens as international schools are only allowed to have a small percentage (approx. 19%) of local students [citation needed].

Uniform

The uniform consists of black trousers or skirt (and skorts), and a choice of either a white, maroon or blue polo shirt. Students must wear white socks and black leather shoes. Year 12 and 13 do not wear a specified uniform but conform to a strict dress code.

Activities

The BPS school grounds are regarded as some of the finest sports facilities in South East Asia[citation needed]. They play host to several community sports leagues, such as the Bangkok Soccer League, and other sports including rugby and cricket.

Music

Music is a strong point at Bangkok Patana School, with many concerts called the 'Patana Series' these include the Patana Classic, Unplugged, Plugged, World & Jazz, and Summer Concert (Primary school only). There is a Primary and Secondary orchestra, and a Secondary String Ensemble. The Secondary School also has the Junior and Senior Jazz Bands, and the Senior Choir.
