Jersey #:
3/ Ingle Martin at NFL.com Harry Ingle Martin IV (born August 15, 1982) is an American football quarterback, currently signed by the Tennessee Titans. He was selected in the fifth round of the 2006 NFL Draft out of Furman University and made the Packer roster as the third-string QB behind Aaron Rodgers and long standing veteran Brett Favre. On August 24, 2007, he was released by the Packers, but the Tennessee Titans signed him to their practice squad on September 2.

Career

High school

Martin attended Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was a letterman in football, basketball, soccer, and baseball. In football, he led his team to three Tennessee State Championships.

Martin was a versatile football player, playing quarterback, punter, and sometimes stepping in as a safety. In one memorable game Martin ran for a 26 yard, "go-ahead score" in the final seconds of a victory over the highly ranked Bolles School.[citation needed] He also kicked three field goals of 50+ yards, with a school record 56 yarder.[citation needed]

College

Martin originally went to the University of Florida to play for the highly successful Steve Spurrier. Upon Spurrier's exit to the NFL, however, Martin was caught in limbo, as new Florida head coach Ron Zook elected to start freshman Chris Leak in Martin's sophomore season. Martin moved to South Carolina's Furman University, where he had two successful years and set a number of passing records.
