Me and Wikipedia

I've been using Wikipedia for a few years now, actually I started using it as soon as I got a broadband Internet connection. I joined the community around the beginning of November 2007, mainly just to write the Sarcastic Gamer article. After that, I decided to stay, as I found the place interesting and quaint. I like the idea how Wikipedia is organised; there are several things I'd change about it, but as a whole it's one of the best managed websites in my opinion. And it's definitely the website I owe the most to. Most of the time I spend on Wikipedia, I patrol new pages and very (very) often submit them for deletion. I just believe that a deletion is more likely to make the entry's author actually think it over and rewrite it than placing some wikify tags. Of course, if you've noticed a speedy deletion template on your article that was signed by me, you can call me names on my talk page or tell me why you think the article should not be deleted. The template can be removed anytime.

Me and the real world

As you've probably noticed on the right, I live in Poland and am not proud of it. I go to school... well, and am not proud of it. I play tennis, used to horse-ride... oh my gosh, let's leave my private life alone. It's NOT AT ALL interesting. By the way, my real name is NOT Regua, I am NOT Portuguese and I do NOT come from Régua. If you really have to know, my surname is Reguła. Yeah, that's what the nickname came from, before I realised that there is such a place called Peso da Régua and that 'régua' means 'ruler' in Portuguese.

Me and the Web

Web is my passion. Every time my Internet connection goes down, I try to think of some ways to get to the nearest Internet café. I love designing web sites (in HTML rather than XHTML) and writing web applications (in PHP, Python, with a little bit of JavaScript/Ajax). Although it may seem extremely boring for some (most?) of you, I really enjoy spending time that way. Despite my love for web development, I use the majority of the time I spend in the Web to rampage through hundreds of websites that I read (including BBC news, IGN, Sarcastic Gamer, gazeta.pl), some web comics (Cyanide and Happiness, Ctrl+Alt+Del and xkcd among others) and even social networks (well, actually just one) and, when I get bored, browse randomly. Also, thanks to an overwhelming dose of boredom I once got, I started learning the Lojban language and - that's the most intriguing part - I liked it (nevertheless, don't try to contact me using Lojban; I'm at a "total beginner" level).
