Clan Page

I'm sorry if someone has already said this, but what happened to the page about clan information. I can't find any links to it. I think it should be included, or maybe I missed something. Icegram 21:21, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, we figured everyone would know by now, but if you can't find it, then it must've been deleted. One of the Wikipedia admins thought that it wasn't really encyclopedic (which is really stupid because I thought it was! I used that page a lot!) and they put it up for deletion. It must've taken action recently. I don't know the specific situation with it, but I think that's basically what happened. §ροττεδςταr(Talk|Contribs) 22:46, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Clan (Warriors) Metros 22:49, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I say we should rebuild it. Make it a bigger and better article that wiki admins cannot delete it. WikiClan should unite. ClawClaw 17:31, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to have the article exist again, you'll have to take it to deletion review. Metros 18:58, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a Sysop on the Warriors Wiki. I'm interested to know if there's anyway I could get a copy of the information that had been collected already. I read the deletion discussion and I ask that it not be posted strait to the fanwiki is it's... as disorganized as many seem to consider it. But salvageable sections and verifiable fact could easily be included in the fanwiki in the proper locations. Kitsufox 19:49, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have it copied in notepad, I could give it to you. CrowstarCrow callsTalon Marks 21:04, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ET passed it on to me already ;) It's slowly getting worked into the various proper locations for the information at the Wikia. A lot of information in it that needs to be gone through. Kitsufox(Fox's Den) 18:39, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Icy from Warrior's Wish. So apparently we should just wait to see what the Wiki genius admins do, then rebuild it? Sorry, I'm not sure.[[[User:IceUnshattered|IceUnshattered]] (talk) 20:21, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We'd have to be able to reference things and get it through a Deletion Review if we wanted to bring it back here. It's frankly not going to happen. That page was all what they call Fancruft. The truth is harsh, but I'm your fox if you want honest. That page FAILED to meet standards here. Things from it are being worked into the Warriors Wiki instead. The fan-site style stuff goes there, the encyclopedic content stays here. Articles need references other than the original work. Warriors is, in all honesty, a relatively un-notable series for children. There isn't a lot of outside coverage on the matter. Be happy that the information is finding a home at WWiki and don't try and turn the lives of the Admins here into something akin to hell. Kitsufox(Fox's Den) 15:33, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Some info we could add

A couple days ago, I went through the First and Second Erin Hunter chats, and found some interesting things that we might want to add the the aricles.

From the first Erin Hunter chat:

  • The forest the Clans live in is loosely based off New Forest
  • Some of the books are on the New York Times bestseller list
  • The herbs and their uses are taken from a book written by Nicholas Cuppler, a sixteenth century apothecary
  • There is a Lord of the Rings influence

From the second Erin Hunter chat:

  • Vicky says her favorite Warriors book is The Darkest Hour
  • the Tribe of Rushing Water shows what happens when two different religions encounter each other, 9/11 related to this
  • a theme of Warriors is nature vs. nurture
  • Bluestar was originally called Bluestone, but her name was changed so it wouldn't sound like the Moonstone
  • Warriors is on Audio CD, starting with Starlight

So there! Shrewpelt 22:09, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The first stuff has been touched on a few times. However, the second stuff is new.

  • I don't see how we could work that in. It would probably be reverted as fancruft.
  • I don't think that's too important...
  • Hmm... I'm debating this one... I can't really recall instances of that...
  • That would be an interesting sidenote to her section in the character page.
  • That should be in, maybe as "Warriors is a novel series that has been published in audio CDs" or something. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Crowstar (talkcontribs) 21:10, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hm, you've been busy, Shrewpelt!  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 01:53, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think the nature vs. nuture thing is good idea. Most books have a 'Theme' section, and that could be that start of a new theme section..... ~ Bella Swan 23:34, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lost Information

Due to the recent deletions of Firestar's Quest, Secrets of the Clans and the pending decision on Dark River I wanted to bring something important up. Just deleting them means that the information on them is lost. At the very least we should be able to move small tidbits into the main warriors article. ClawClaw (talk) 21:23, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It would be better to push for Transwiki on all articles to send them to Warriors Wiki. While we already have articles on most of those things, information from them could be worked into existing WWiki articles, rather than packing it into the main series article here and putting THAT at risk for deletion. Wikipedia isn't the place for most of your more detailed in-universe stuff. Warriors Wiki is. Without 3rd party references the information simply does not fit Wikipedia's rules. Kitsufox(Fox's Den) 15:22, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think ClawClaw ment that information like release dates and small tidbits of plot info. ~Rainpaw —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.215.85.163 (talk) 16:40, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Transwiki is still better. I wonder if cross-wiki-linking to Warriors Wiki would be an acceptable method by which to have articles to the less-notable books linked from the Wikipedia articles... I shall have to check policy and find out... Kitsufox(Fox's Den) 15:31, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I do think it's a good point, but is there really any important info in the articles? I think the articles were just uploaded pictures with a tiny plot summary. Not really much to transwiki. ~ Bella Swan 15:52, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fourth Series?

Yeah, someone created a section about this, and I removed it because they didn't provide a ref. Just as some advice, don't waste your time creating sections on how up coming books were talked about on this tour, or on some chat website without providing a source or ref, becasue someone will just delete it. ~ Bella Swan 20:53, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Considering there's also absolutely no information other than rumors that there will be a fourth series (though their might be web-based references for it, but I'm not sure), until we have more details I don't see any reason to even consider adding it even if we have a reference. Why make a section that says "There are gonna be 6 more books... They'll be about something but no one's told us what yet..." Kitsufox(Fox's Den) 15:29, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yep. I agree. ~ Bella Swan 16:00, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dark River release date

Hi I'm back. If you don't already know Canada gets the books first for some reason. Chapters.ca says Dec. 12. I'm wondering if we should add this as a possible date. Would you count Chapters as a good source? Sometimes the are wrong though.

Also this bugs me. Some say it isn't fair we get the books first. But even though Canadien and Americian money is worth the same now, book prices don't change. So we still end up paying more then Americains. Midnight was $5 more, and Twilight was $10 more. So don't say it's not fair, because we've got our own drawbacks. Griffenflash 20:03, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another name for the original warriors?

I was browsing the official website and several times it calls the original warriors series Warriors: First Arc. ~Rainpaw —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.215.85.163 (talk) 19:41, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it's called that....where did you see that again? ~ Bella Swan 20:40, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, well, maybe they just call it that because it's the first "arc" to the whole series, meaning the beginning of the others. I don't know, that's my guess. But I don't think that really needs to be put in the articles, though... §ροττεδςταr(Talk|Contribs) 23:26, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I searches it and didn't come up with anything tho, so maybe it was just a typo or something else....I dunno. ~ Bella Swan 23:31, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't be surprised if it was a typo. I never knew Brambleclaw had a sister named Tawnyclaw.  :)  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 03:23, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What happened?

Why is the List of RiverClan cats gone? Griffenflash (talk) 21:06, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of RiverClan Cats Metros (talk) 21:32, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, that took awhile. We do have a universal list at least of all Clan cats, right? It we do, then we should put the all other lists of individual Clans up for deletion too.... ~ Bella Swan 22:40, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The List of RC Cats has been Transwikied, not just deleted. It's currently being archived at Warriors Wiki for eventual inclusion into the individual character articles. I strongly urge you NOT to try and make a list of all clan cats. At most we'll get away with a list of major characters, but it would have like... 10 characters on it total, and it would have to be characters that we can find references to, not just lists referenced entirely from the books. The characters from a rather obscure children's book series aren't going to make the notability standards. Fan-stuff (such as comprehensive lists of all warrior cats) belongs on a Fan Wiki, not on Wikipedia. Kitsufox(Fox's Den) 02:58, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I did put the List of ThunderClan Cats up for deletion. ~ Bella Swan 22:13, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've just put the rest of the Lists of Clans up for deletion. ~ Bella Swan 01:15, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion

So far these have been deleted: 1. The Clan info page 2. Secrets of the Clans 3. Firestar's Quest 4. RiverClan cats Please don't delete any more, I find these pages useful. After Dark River comes out, can someone please bring back the page? Thornclaw (talk) 01:32, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We cannot bring the Dark River Page back without a full deletion review where we would have to prove the notability of the book itself. At this point be prepared, I see a lot more pages going that way. Wikipedia is not a fan site, it's an encyclopedia. If something matters only to fans, the article isn't kept. If you want detailed in universe information, try Warriors Wiki. In fact, the RiverClan Cats page isn't lost! It's been moved there (Though it's stored in my userspace pending the information getting split out to the individual character pages). Overview of series: Belongs here on Wikipedia. Detailed world information is Fan stuff. That belongs on a Fanwiki. Kitsufox(Fox's Den) 13:27, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that, I just got an account, so I'm not exactly familiar. Thanks for showing me the warriors wiki page. Thornclaw (talk) 02:48, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem. Awareness is an ongoing project for me, and I do try and involve myself in improving the Warriors Pages here on Wikipedia, but I'd also like to help improve the Warriors quadrant's relationship with the Wikipedia Staff. Making sure people know policy is what I consider a solid first step ;) Kitsufox(Fox's Den) 17:32, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dark River is in Canada

I've finshed it and should I start adding the infromation? I know that it's listed to be released on the 26th but isn't it technically released if it's in Canada? (They probably have Warrior's Refuge too, but I was in a rush, and forgot to look.) Griffenflash (talk) 00:18, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What Happened???

Why did y'all delete these articles:

List of ThunderClan cats

List of RiverClan cats

List of WindClan cats

List of ShadowClan cats

Alpha92613 (talk) 20:39, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Because they did not fulfill Wikipedia Policies such as WP:FICT, WP:FAN, WP:N, and WP:CITE. As they'll never be able to do so, they're deleted off Wikipedia. I'm in the process of chasing down a Transwiki for the pages, but apparently my request was missed prior to now. Kitsufox(Fox's Den) 21:06, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Film?

Should this be included it is directly stated that there is no intent to create a film so should this section be includedCoho (talk) 22:21, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Probably not. Take it off if you want.  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 03:21, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm tempted to say inclusion of the quote about a lack of plan to create a film at the moment is probobly good. The rumor is very tenacious in the fandom. Kitsufox(Fox's Den) 04:07, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Where did she go?

Where's Bluestar's page? I linked it on my user page and she's no longer there? Why?
