Ben Gurion Airport Railway Station (Hebrew: תחנת הרכבת נמל התעופה בן גוריון, Tahanat HaRakevet Nemal HaTe'ufa Ben Gurion) is a station on the Israel Railways lines between Tel Aviv (and points north) and Be'er Sheva and Tel Aviv and Modi'in, serving Terminal 3 of Ben Gurion International Airport.[1] It was opened in 2004.
The rail journey from Ben Gurion Airport to Tel Aviv takes about fifteen minutes and costs 12 NIS. In the opposite direction, the rail journey to the Lod Railway Station also takes about 15 mintues where connections can be made to additional railway destinations south of the airport such as Ashdod and Bet Shemesh. Over a million passengers used the line in 2005.[2] Another line from the station goes Southeast to Modi'in. In December 2006 the station averaged 2710 passengers daily.
The station will also be a regular stop on the future Tel Aviv to Jerusalem high-speed rail line which is currently under construction. The Modi'in spur was opened on September 1, 2007, but the Jerusalem link will only be operative in 2012.[3]
