Curb was the debut album by Nickelback, released in 1996. The album has quite a strong cult following. The album and title track were named for Chad Kroeger's friend, Kirby, who had sneaked out to visit his girlfriend but actually crashed his car into her car, since she also sneaked out to see him, unbeknownst to him. This is also the reason for the wrecked car image on the original version of the album, and the lone road image on the re-released version. It sold 100,000 copies as independent release. When the album re-released in 2002, it was charted on Billboard 200 albums chart at #182.

Album covers

The re-released version of the album (2002) has a road on the cover, whereas the original 1996 version shows a wrecked car on the cover. The original is an extremely sought after collector's item.
