The school is a part of the Harford County Public Schools.
The Science and Mathematics Academy at Aberdeen High School (commonly abbreviated SMA) is a magnet school for all entering high school freshman residing in Harford County. It was the first magnet school within the Harford County Public School District. The first class of students are completing their senior capstone projects and are going to graduate in the spring of '08.
