Election

Good, everything seems to be in order, do you want to run? Do you think I should run? I would not be so forthright as to nominate myself without consulting people to understand if I have the required votes or not, I however would vot for you as chair or whatever. DangerTM (talk) 11:32, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am not entirely sure what you mean, do you mean that they will berate me with questions if I decide to run? Because if so, then that will be fine, but then again. I just updated my personal reading list, it is not on wikipedia though. It includes a fair few of the classics, something like 20 or so 2000 page novels, shouldn't be too hard. If you want the full list, just give me a yell. DangerTM (talk) 11:46, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Special edition newsletter

Were you planning on sending out a special edition newsletter, or something similar, to alert members about the Election? Not everyone watches the general forum and therefore might not know that nominations are only being taken until the 30th. Just an idea. :) María (habla conmigo) 12:58, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Aha, three steps ahead of me. Very cool! María (habla conmigo) 13:02, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Novels - 1st Coordinators Election

An election has been proposed and has been set up for this project. Description of the roles etc., can be found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Coordinators. If you wish to stand, enter your candidacy before the end of March and ask your questions of anyone already standing at Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Coordinators/May 2008. Voting will start on the 1st April and close at the end of April. The intention is for the appointments to last from May - November 2008. For other details check out the pages or ask. KevinalewisBot (talk) 13:08, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Haha, you think I'd notice that blantant sign plastered on the page, and register the odd fact that no one else had voted... but no. :P Thanks. ~ Bella Swan 16:18, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just FYI

[1] - I'm User:Feydey not User:Feyday. You might want to check the bot settings. And good luck in the election. Best, feydey (talk) 17:39, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Election

Well it seems that we are up against each other, although my challenge will be to get recognised, it will be you who will win, but I still want to help. It does however seem justifying that my idea has become a reality, maybe I could assist you when you get elected, proof reading posts before you make them, that sort of thing, like a presidential aid. DangerTM (talk) 05:06, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You should really ponder my proposal, I would drop out of the race for the election, and even though I don't really represent much of a challenge, it is still one less candidate. ThanksDangerTM (talk) 09:02, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I guess so, are you going to ponder my idea? I thought it was a good one. I am feeling somewhat validated, because my idea has become a reality, it feels good. DangerTM (talk) 09:10, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Based on the current candidate count, we will all "succeed". Also the idea has still some way to run. It would be better to have more candidates, we need to see how the voting stage goes and we need to see how productive the working relationship and practices of any coordinators will be. Really we will see if the concept is good probably half way to November. I'm not sure how practically an "aid" would work. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 09:14, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You know what I mean, helpin out in a way that doesn't affect the way the project is run, I would be helping your vision, not producing my own.DangerTM (talk) 10:02, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This is somewhat off the topic of the elctions, but I am writing a novella, I was wondering if you would be interested in reading what I have written so far? I write heaps of these stories, I worte one that was about 12 pages long when I finished it, I started editing it, got bored and moved on. So it would be good to get a second opinion from someone so that I can decide whether or not I want to continue working on it, otherwise I will just give up. DangerTM (talk) 10:15, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Novella

Both, I would be happy for you to edit it in anyway you see fit, where should I post it? In your sand box, or can you designate a particular portion of wikipedia to it?DangerTM (talk) 10:22, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, but I will be pretty annoyed if I see this years down the track in a book store.DangerTM (talk) 10:34, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Too late now, I am thinking of doing a doctorate in English language and literature at Oxford, I was wondering if you knew anything about that fine old institution?DangerTM (talk) 10:41, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oxford

Well, just let me add a side note, I wrote that story out of a series of four possible candidates for an extension two English paper when i was in year 11, we submitted the stories and the teacher was to view which ones had the most potential. How do you mean "Dumbing down"? Would I still be raking in 2 million a year if I did get an Oxford Doctorate? And I would of course have to leave the cosy little life I have down under, and move to England to study, which I think would be worth it, I would learn a lot.DangerTM (talk) 10:53, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Year 11 is the year before the final year of high school, they prepare you for the Higher School Certificate, and is probably the last point of call for people to say "Holy shit, I have to start to work" DangerTM (talk) 11:26, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Admin

I am not sure if you are not already an admin, but I was considering nominating you for adminship. The way I see it, if you get adminship, then we both reap the benifits, as does everyone affiliated with the project.DangerTM (talk) 06:16, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't follow quite what you were asking with the "is this blurb?" question. --Mr Wednesday (talk) 06:36, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, my text is definitely not copied from the "blurb", though it does follow the same general outline. I wasn't entirely sure what form was most appropriate for the "plot introduction" as opposed to the "plot summary", so I figured that something laying out the conflict of the book with a minimum of spoilers made the most sense, and that sort of content lends itself to a "blurb"-style format. --Mr Wednesday (talk) 14:07, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Election

woah man, it's getting heated on my end of the election, did you read my story yet?DangerTM (talk) 00:29, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

electoral procedure

Mate, it seems that it is not getting off to the start that one would have hoped, I declared the site inactive, that is, I declared that the site for the candidates to show theselves inactive. If you think that this is unjustified, then tell meDangerTM (talk) 09:54, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image fair use question

I notice that many of the novel images I uploaded are being tagged for deletion, unless saved by another user. When I uploaded them, I used the dropdown at the time to idicate Fair use :book cover. Is that no longer sufficient for the cover images? If it is already heavily discussed, if you could link me there I don't mind reading it, but a summary would be awesome. Thanks!PeregrineV (talk) 07:09, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reading this page...

I was surprised to see that you're not an administrator. It seems that the tools would be very useful, especially considering all the work you do with categories and maintenance. Have you avoided running for any particular reason? You've always been calm, courteous and extremely competent, in my experience. I would be happy to nominate, or I'm sure we could scare up some nominators of even more prestige if you'd be interested. If you feel as though you're not familiar with any aspects of adminship, I'd be happy to help find a good adminship coach, or anything else I could do to help. If you're not interested, well, I know I've said it before, but as a bibliophile I'm really grateful for all the work you put into Wikipedia. --JayHenry (talk) 03:16, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

I have been unblocked. I just wanted to say I am sorry. Danger was not a sockpuppet. He was, is, me, but he was not a sock puppet. Tom.mevlie (talk) 09:04, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Did you ever get my story?Tom.mevlie (talk) 09:05, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
