SM city Marikina is strategically located beside the Riverbanks Shopping Center, and is situated along Marcos Highway. SM city Marikina is envisioned as one of the biggest malls in Metro Manila in terms of area. The Mall features a 5-storey building, 3 of its floors will function as the mall and the other 2 lower floors will serve as its carpark. an open-air parking area is located at the back and front of the Mall. SM city Marikina will have 8 cinemas, a Department Store, a Hypermarket and an entertainment hall. SM city Marikina is set to become the biggest mall in eastern Metro Manila, its GFA will surpass the GFA of the Sta. Lucia Malls combined. SM city Marikina is set to open this June.
Meanwhile, SM Prime Holdings and BF Construction proposed the Building 2/Annex of SM city Marikina which is located at the back of the Mall. SM city Marikina is envisioned to be the sixth largest mall of SM in the Philippines after SM Mall of Asia, SM City North EDSA, SM Megamall, SM city Cebu and SM city Fairview.
