Mulheres de areia (1993)/("Sand Women"), it is a Brazilian soap opera produced by the Rede Globo and shown it enters 1 of February and 25 of September of 1993, in 203 chapters. It was written by Ivani Ribeiro with the contribution of Solange Castro Neves and directed by Wolf Maya, Ignácio Coqueiro and Carlos Magalhães. Remake of the soap opera of same name of the extinct Rede Tupi is one and shown originally in the 1973/1974, with Eva Wilma interpreting two main personages of the tram, the twin Ruth and Rachel.

Tram

Young the Marcos Assunção are in return to the littoral city of Pontal D' Areia to assist in the businesses of the family Assunção. The youngster knows and if Ruth gets passionate for the candy, son of a family of fishing poor persons, but she finishes involved for Rachel, the twin sister of Ruth. The sisters are identical, but of opposing personalities. While Ruth loves the young of truth, Rachel ambiciona its position and richness, and keeps its loving relationship with Wanderley, an outlaw. Who perceives everything this is the mental sick person Tonho da Lua, celebrity for sculpturing women in sands of the beach, the protege of Ruth, and that it suffers with the persecution and badnesses from Rachel. But Rachel has that to face Virgílio Assunção, the Marcos father, that not accepted namoro. Virgílo, a prepotent and unscrupulous man, is the vice-mayor and owner of the biggest hotel of the city. Its dream is to make of Pontal D' Areia a tourist center, but has that to deal with the mayor of the city, the Green politic Breno, that forbids to sea banns before a dangerous pollution. The population of the city is divided, and allied Breno has one fort, Tônia, a local trader. To demoralize Breno, Virgílio puts Scarecrows in beaches, symbolizing the mayor who scares the tourists. But Virgílio also has that to face problems of its house inside. Malu, the rebellious son, the guilt for the death of the fiancé, and lives to provoke it. Until the young woman knows Alaôr cattle tender, who works with its cousin Arlete Assumção. Alaôr is a man rude, and dumb its target. Alaôr tries the cost all to domar the randoms of Malu.

Meanwhile, Ruth suffers been silent with the marriage of the Rachel sister, exactly knowing that it is with Marcos alone for interest. History has an overturn when Rachel is given as deceased and Ruth assumes its personality, to be to the side of the man whom she loves. But Rachel did not die, and comes back wanting to have everything that was its in return, nor that pra this has that to kill some people.
