Hey. This probably sounds really stupid but im going to ask anyhow. you say that running the bot in one go would save resources, but how?? The ammount of pages edited is going to be exactly the same, so wouldn't the ammount of resources that are used be exactly the same, no matter how long it takes? If anything wouldn't it be more effective to do it slowly over a few days, so that resources aren't hit that hard in one big shot, (i dont think its going to have a large impact of resources any how). I'm new to this stuff so if my quesions do sound stupid i do appologise,. Cheers Printer222 (talk) 00:26, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- If you do a run tagging all the image, then do a run adding the stub parameter you edit more pages. BJTalk 00:36, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
Oh, i misunderstood you, i thought you were objecting to my proposal of running the program daily untill all the pages were taged and were suggesting that i just run it non-stop untill they were all done. I really don't know how long it will take for the program to tag 6600 pages, so it might be able to be done in one shot anyhow.
I totally agree with your opinon then, Im still trying to work out why its assessing non-stub articles as stub. Ive tried many different things but still can't find a soloution. It really does make sense to wait untill i can sought out the problem before i start (based on your oppinon). Thanks for your help. Printer222 (talk) 00:44, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
Deletion of Helicopter sample
Your bot has deleted a 30-seconds sample of Bloc Party - Helicopter. It was deleted because it was orphaned, however after checking the history of the sample it was clear that User:LAz17 deleted the link after several very bad written editions. Could you restore the file in order to add it again to the article Helicopter (song)? Thanks --ometzit<col> (talk) 17:02, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Charlotteflag.png)
Bjweeks, thanks for the notification. However, there seems to be some error in Wikipedia. The image is used on the Charlotte, North Carolina article, but oddly it doesn't list it as an article on the image's page. I'm not sure what the issue is but I thought I would let you know so you can review. I'll take a look at the FairUse and add the appropriate rational, but the image is not orphaned. Thanks, Morphh (talk) 13:34, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- Seems none of the images were correctly identifying the article link. A null edit to the article seems to have fixed it but something to be aware of... Morphh (talk) 15:45, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
beta software
okay, so using the tag beta was probably a bad idea, but the description is somewhat accurate in that its under development and may change, and since I'm somewhat lacking in wikipedia know how, I was wondering if you knew of a better tag that would describe it......Noian (talk) 21:02, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- It just doesn't need a tag. See: Wine (software), Django (web framework), et al. The tag doesn't serve the purpose of saying "hey, you can't use this yet but it'll be out soon" so it isn't needed. BJTalk 21:17, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
