Edit warring

You are now deliberately engaging in WP:Edit warring on the Running Up that Hill page. Your source is not valid, you have been told this and continually revert anyway. I am reporting this. I am not considered to be engaged in the same because one exception to the three-reversion rule is the removal of improperly sourced material, which is what I am doing. You seem to be confusing WP with a fan page, where there are no standards for references. The problem is axiomatic: if information is important enough to be in this encyclopedia, it's important enough to source it properly. Either provide a non-Twitter source, or leave the assertion off the page until there is a reference considered reliable by WP standards. The world will not come to an end if every single example of Running Up That Hill being played on a TV show isn't listed. You seem to have a heavily vested interest in this, which is beyond reason at this point. I am asking you again to stop putting this in, and to stop being rude in your summaries and posts on the Talk page.--TEHodson 04:16, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

I replied on the talk page. You are inventing standards that simply do not exist on Wikipedia. That article alone has seven links to YouTube, which falls under the same category as Twitter by Wikipedia policy. Brandon (talk) 04:24, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

YouTube is equally dodgey, but that can at least be viewed and one can see that indeed it is the artist named in the article. A Tweet is not the same because it's an electronically generated rumour, and your insistence that these are the real band members themselves doing the Tweeting is irrelevant. Get a proper source. Your sources are not considered reliable by WP standards. One is a company advertising for itself. Another is a commercial site to buy the song. The other two are Twitter. The sources for the main article, the Kate Bush section, are interviews and magazines. You are correct that the YouTube citations for the entire "covers" section are also not the best. But yours are worse, I'm sorry to say. I am once again reverting, and now that the report is in we'll let an administrator decide. Try to find someone who has reviewed the song, or the show and mentioned it. That's the sort of source WP wants, not stores or recording studios. We don't use Amazon, either, you may have noticed. I'm sorry this is so hard for you to deal with, but three bad sources are still not acceptable. Are you a member of the band yourself? Running up that hill

Brandon, i saw your revert on that page and have reverted back to exclude the twitter feed. I placed a note on the talk page explaining this in detail. The short version is Twitter is not a reliable source, While WP:SocialMedia is a policy, the entry on the page fails #2 and #4 of that policy. Because the information purports to be from the singer herself, BLP most certainly applies. Request for Interview Regarding Wikipedia Bots

Greetings Brandon-

My name is Randall Livingstone, and I am a graduate student at the University of Oregon, currently collecting data for my dissertation on Wikipedia editors who create and use bots and assisted editing tools, as well as editors involved in the initial and/or ongoing creation of bot policies on Wikipedia. As a member of BAG and the bot community, I would very much like to interview you for the project at a time and in a method that is most convenient for you (Gchat, another IM client, Skype, email, telephone, etc.). I am completely flexible and can work with your schedule. The interview will take approximately 30-45 minutes.

My dissertation project has been approved both by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at the University of Oregon, and by the Research Committee at the Wikimedia Foundation. You can find more information on the project on my meta page.

That IP range is owned by a web hosting company that provides shared hosting. They are often abused by long term vandals and sock puppets since you can get an account at most web hosts for $5/month. Unless the requestor has a good reason to be using a proxy (lives in Iran or something), it shouldn't really be approved. Brandon (talk) 22:02, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

MSU Interview

Dear Brandon,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the communityHERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:

Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.

Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. Abuse Filter on the Article Feedback Tool

Hey there :). You're being contacted because you're an edit filter manager, At the moment, we're developing Version 5 of the Article Feedback Tool, which you may or may not have heard about. If you haven't; for the first time, this will involve a free-text box where readers can submit comments :). Obviously, there's going to be junk, and we want to minimise that junk. Sarah Baartman

Hi, thanks for the notice about the reversion. I find this a tricky article to edit. The subject naturally arouses strong feeling, plus, there are a lot of sites and sources promoting mistaken or exaggerated accounts of Baartman's experiences. I don't know much about sockpuppets: I thought people came to edit the article in good faith but all fired up with the wrong information. Usually all I add to history articles are contemporary newspaper references, but with this, I thought I might try to find an authoritative print biography before doing any more edits.RLamb (talk) 20:58, 19 January 2013 (UTC)

Abuse of your Administrator privileges

I am just putting this as a note to all victims of this Administrator as well as all others who are concerned.

Now operating as Brandon, this admin uses multiple accounts and frequently engages in politically motivated attacks, retaliation, stalking of editors who he deems not to have a pro-Jewish POV etc. He as also leaked personal information about legitimate editors to people outside of Wikipedia. He works with administrators who exhibit similar behavior and engages in gang retaliation against Wikipedia editors both in Wikipedia as well as outside of Wikipedia.

This administrator, may be using another account now. He was previously operating as "BJWeeks" and has long been abusing his administrator privileges under multiple accounts, blocking editors for bogus reasons using false accusation backed up by his gang of admin. friends.Harris3433 (talk) 22:22, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
