The 2008 Asia Cup will take place in Pakistan in June 2008. The six teams which are expected to take part in the tournament areBangladesh, India, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the UAE. This will be the first Asia Cup hosted by Pakistan; previously political tensions between India and Pakistan did not permit Pakistan to host the event.It will be broadcasted in India by Star Cricket and ESPN.[1]
Format
Originally, the 9th version of the Cup was supposed to take place in 2006, however packed international cricket schedules did not allow for the tournament to be held.
Group A consists of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates.
Group B consists of India, Hong Kong and Pakistan.
