Nice to see someone else working on obscure ballplayers. Keep up the good work! -Colin Kimbrell 16:24, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Baseball pages

Thanks for your support Alex. Cheeers – MusiCitizen 12:41, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In general baseball cards do not fall under fair use because the copyright is still held by Topps, Fleer, Upper Deck, etc. Posting images of their cards would probably be considered to be in violation of their copyright. Older baseball card from the 1800's early part of the 20th century can sometimes be used as the images have fallen into the public domain because of their age. This is my best understanding of the issue. Also check out this link. No Guru 23:17, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Your question about Topps Cards

I'm not sure there is a tag that covers this situation. For now you should copy and paste the email from Topps into each image description. I also encourage you to raise the topic here - you might get some better, more specific advice. Happy editing. No Guru 02:14, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Topps permission is useless to us, because it applies only to Wikipedia, not to any downstream users, or even other Wikimedia projects, such as Wikinews or Wikibooks. That's why we want real licenses like GFDL or CC, not vague permissions. Stan 04:58, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Topps baseball cards images

Hi. I don't believe that this letter provides adequate justification for use of the images of Topps baseball cards on Wikipedia. Though I'm unsure what your original query to the Topps legal staff was, I can only assume that it was not adequetly explained that Wikipedia is licensed under the GFDL and thus cannot use works or images that are not released under a compatible free license, aside from the rare items that can be used under the fair use doctrine of US law. Please retag these images properly in accordance with Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and Wikipedia:Image use policy, or they will have to be deleted. Thank you.--Sean Black (talk) 05:43, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh Well

Then I guess they gotta be deleted. All I was trying to do was to get examples of these players cards on this site and this is what Topps gave me.Alex 15:08, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

baseball player articles

Hey - nice work on all the baseball player articles. One suggestion - could you include an external links or better yet a references section when you create these articles? It's helpful to know where the information is coming from. Thanks, Mattingly23 21:38, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There's a need for a fix in the Greg Keagle article. It says he pitched the first no-hitter in Elmira Pioneers history, but there was actually 3 no-hitters pitched by the Pioneers in 1965. There's more about this in the Greg Keagle talk page.--Ando por Fe 17:26, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Major League - Uni lists.

I've moved some of the pages you've created that had "Major Leaguers" to "Major League Baseball players who played for University", capitalising Major League Baseball, and the university name as appropriate. Just something to note on the naming if you plan to make a new list in the future. --Borgarde 10:02, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposition

Hi! I am AlexHillan, member of the Department of Fun and creator of Wikipedia the Beautiful. I noticed that you are a composer of one or more wikisongs. I am proposing that Wikipedia the Beautiful becomes the official theme song. You may leave me a message on my talk page telling me what you think. Thanks, AlexHillan 19:00, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:AngelopolisTigres.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:AngelopolisTigres.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Thanks

Hi Alexautographs! I just wanted to thank you for creating articles for first-round Minnesota draft picks that still needed them. It looks great now. Thanks again. RyguyMN 07:26, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Alexsautographs, I noticed there is an inconsistency in the above articles that you created regarding Alex Main's burial location. Do you have access to a reference that could clear up this inconsistency? Regards, Accurizer (talk) 23:46, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem; glad to help. Regards, Accurizer (talk) 23:52, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Song

Hallo, I am from the german Wikipedia from the sociologic section, and I found out that you wrote a song text on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Song . We want to know the reason(s) why you wrote this song. It would be kind of you to leave an english (or german) comment on http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Wikipedistik/Soziologie/Musik&action=edit&redlink=1 . Thank you --84.166.123.219 (talk) 07:29, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
