Zone Diet

A lot of this article appears to be about promoting the Zone Diet as opposed to providing information about Manuel Uribe. This is especially true in parts of the Personal Life section, some of which reads like editorial as opposed to encyclopedic content. I also removed the following line from the end of the section: "For exclusive video footage of Dr. Sears' recent trip to Manuel's home in Mexico as well as continued updates on Manuel's progress, visit www.zonediet.com." I have removed a large amount of unreferenced material including what his pre-diet purported meals consisted of etc. Bigdaddy1981 (talk) 18:14, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Weight in Kilos (pounds, stone)

The default measure for his weight ought to be kilos, as per Wikipedia policy of favoring the local conventions in such matters. Mexico uses the metric system. Giving measurements in pounds can be justified given bothy the large US readership of Wikipedia and by the fact that Uribe lived in Dallas, Texas. However, numbers in pounds should be given in parentheses. Giving the numbers in stone has much less justification as nowhere is it part of an official system of weights and measures. However, given the sizable Wiki-readership from the British Isles, there is some justification in using stone but NOT as the default measure, which is now the case with the article. I'm going to rewrite the numbers to make kilos the default and to place pounds and stone in parentheses. In passing, I might add that I'm an American, so this isn't being done out of any desire to favor the local system with which I'm most familiar. Interlingua 20:52, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Records

I added this: Uribe, a former auto parts dealer, who celebrated his 43th birthday on June 11, 2008, said: "We are in love, and this year my birthday wish is to be able to stand when we get married; We are a couple; We have sex, and in the eyes of God we are already married." On 2004, he met Solis, 38, a hairdresser, who stated: "I bathe him every day, and we get along very well." Sitting in bed, Uribe would regularly exercise with arms pull-ups and by hand pedaling. He announced plans to launch the Manuel Uribe Foundation to educate Mexican people about nutrition, to combat obesity problems. He would ask Guinness to certify in July, 2008, his second title: “The world's greatest loser of weight.”ap.google.com, 700-pound Mexican man hopes to stand for weddingtorontosun.com, Big goal, thanks to love--Florentino floro (talk) 08:09, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Excessive Use of Citation Needed Tags

Folks, not every sentence has to have a citation. If you think the article should receive better citation, do the research yourself or put in a general statement to that effect. I can't believe someone wasted their time putting a citation needed tag on every single sentence on this article. Ridiculous. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.127.98.2 (talk) 18:21, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Typing in all caps makes you look like you are shouting. You might like to take all caps off next time. Bigdaddy1981 (talk) 18:14, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
