Why in the world

Why in the world would this guy deny Scotty Bowman the position of president of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Bowman may By some and probably by me) as the greatest coach in the NHL. But why would Richard Peddie not give him this position? Leafs fans must be mad at him for that. I don't think there are many people in Toronto who don't highly respect Scotty Bowman, and his achievements. Any comments, and possible references in this article about that? It's actually news I saw her on Wikipedia.
