This is a list of people from Yorkshire. Yorkshire was the largest county in both England and the United Kingdom. Efforts have been made in the past to compile lists of the most noted people from Yorkshire, such as the Yorkshire Greats book by Sir Bernard Ingham which listed fifty Yorkshiremen and women.[1] Some of the most notable figures from the county are;
