Deportes Palmira is a Colombian football (soccer) team, based in Palmira, Colombia. The club was founded in 2009 and plays in Categoría Primera B. The club was formerly known as Girardot F.C. based in Girardot, Colombia but due to financial dificulties, the club relocated to Palmira and was rebranded. The club is expected to return to Girardot in 2011. Deportes Palmira has close relations with first division club Deportivo Cali which loans them youth players to develop.
