Sholinganallur is a panchayat town in Kancheepuram district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
Demographics
As of 2001[update] India census[1], Sholinganallur had a population of 15,519. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Sholinganallur has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 65%. In Sholinganallur, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Sholinganallur is growing very rapidly because of IT Parks and SEZs. Near by areas are Siruseri, Perungudi, Tharamani. Sholinganallur is very good location connected by road ways. Sholinganallur is the Junction connecting ECR to Thambaram and Adayar to Mahabalipuram. This is center of IT Highway. Many IT companies are located within 5 km. Land cost is shooting up multifold in last few years.

DLF India's largest building company is currently building 3500 apartment complex in Sholinganallur,this complex will have a hospital, school and other amenities.
IT corridor
Sholinganallur is home to a number of BPO and IT/ITES companies. Almost all major IT/ITES companies like [Wipro[1]],Tata Consultancy Services, Accenture India,ebay, Infosys, are situated in Sholinganallur. Marys school of managemental studies, jeppiaar SRR engineering college, St. Joseph College of Engineering, SSN College of Engineering. National maritime University,the first in India is currently being built in Shollinganallur,The university complex will also house an Aquarium,National Maritime Museum,Food Courts,Hotel and residential complex.The ministry of shipping is seeking public private partnership to build a five star hotel in the complex.

Sholinganallur Prathyangira Devi Temple
The town is well renowned for this temple, Shri Maha Prathyangira Devi Temple where the Goddess throned gigantic and powerful. Many devotees from various parts of the country regularly visit here. The temple is located close to the junction and half way down the link road of ECR and OMR.
