Bunga (TV Series)

Bunga is yet another drama adaptation of the Japanese manga Hana Yori Dango and this time it's Malaysian. It is going premiere around 2009 on Astro Ria with rumoured of 26 episodes.

This is the forth television drama adaptation of the popular Japanese manga Hana Yori Dango after the success of Taiwanese version , Japanese version and Korean version

Synopsis

Sasha, the leading female role of the series is a poor, hardworking, smart, bubbly high school girl. Because of her deep passioned in a fashion design, one of her biggest dream is to enter the Lim Kok Wing University (LKW) in the country right after finish her high school, where only the richest and the best students can study. With the help from her uncle, she finally gets in unbearingly that she might meet the group F4.

During her first day at LKW, Sasha finds out about the famous F4 and of the other students adoration and fixation with the boys in the group. Daniel Alfian, Haffizi, Isyraf Jefre, and Benjie are the richest and most powerful kids within LKW. Subsequently they use their power to terrorize weaker students or those they do not like. Sasha, instead of being impressed becomes enraged and fantasizes about confronting Daniel, the leader and initiator of many of the bullying acts. She gains courage to confront him when a friend of her accidentally spills drinks on his pants and demanded the girl to replace it. Sasha defends her friend and attempts to reason with Daniel’s tyrannical demand. When he refuses to relent Sasha become angry, knocking Daniel to the ground. Engaged by this Daniel declares war on Sasha and encourages the other students to bully her. Sasha however is resistant, refusing to apologize to Daniel, and stands by her decision to fight against him.

Ironically, Daniel, having never been stood up to, begins to develop feelings towards Sasha. He tries unsuccessfully to woo her as she slowly begins to spend more time with Daniel and his friends. Sasha teaches Daniel that money cannot buy everything and in order to have real friends, he himself must be real or use his heart, but Daniel still does not understand why someone like Sasha should dislike him. As the story progresses Daniel falls deeper in love with Sasha and she learns how to open herself to his love as well.

As love begins to blossom, Daniel’s mother discovers them and deems it unsuitable. She does everything in her power to keep the two apart. Other factors keep arising as another member of the group falls in love with Sasha and in a twist of fate Daniel loses his memory. In the end, however, Daniel and Sasha learn that love conquers all and that they are truly soul mates.

Cast

[[]]: Sasha Fatiqa Mahadir is from a poor family with a fierce and weed-like determination. She first liked Haffizi, who was the only one who showed any compassion while she was bullied. Eventually Daniel begins to fall in love with her, and as he expresses his feelings to her through his actions, she gradually begins to reciprocate those feelings.

Ammar Alfizan Aziz: Daniel Alfian B. Dato' Razim is the hot-headed leader of F4. He is the heir of , and after his father passes away, he inherits and begins to run the company along with his mother. Exasperated by Sasha's act of defiance, he makes her a target of bullying. But as time passes, he begins to admire Sasha's determination and falls in love with her.

Syarul Ezani: Haffizi B. Dato' Tahmizi is a calm and soft-spoken boy who likes to play the violin, piano and guitar and really wanted to form a band. He is generally quiet and cold, but has a soft spot for his close friend and Sasha's idol, the fashion design's student , whom he has harbored feelings for since childhood. His character is a bit complex, and his feelings for Sasha are in a nearly constant state of flux, varying from annoyance to love. However, Daniel has already announced his love of Sasha. Haffizi decides not to betray his friend by trying to fight for Sasha. He is a great grandson of Malaysia's former prime minister.

A.B: Isyraf Jefre is F4's perennial playboy. Handsome and gifted with a brilliant smile. Isyraf also has a habit for making every girl fall for him. Even Sasha's friend, Lana could not escape his charming ways. He is from a family of well-known artists, and is a reputed potter himself. His family owns an art gallery that exhibits national treasures. He is known for his "5 second kill" which is a technique that leads girls to fall in love with him and wanted to kiss him in 5 seconds. According to Haffizi, "F4's Casanova".

Fizo Omar: Benjie, from their origin in the underground, his family now runs a prominent construction business. The family owns real estate throughout the country. He is also the very good friend of Isyraf and a kind hearted person even though he is known as a playboy himself. Sometimes, he is seen betting with Isyraf for cellphone numbers of various girls. Haffizi calls him "F4's Don Juan".

Scha: Lana, is Sasha's best friend since kindergarten, with Sasha, often saving her from bullies. Isyraf often describes her as "nice and idiotic". She is also Sasha's co-worker, as they both work at the shop. She eventually develops feelings for Isyraf and even agreed to go on "Fake Dates" with him to bring Sasha and Daniel back together.
