The People CMM helps organizations characterize the maturity of their workforce practices, establish a program of continuous workforce development, set priorities for improvement actions, integrate workforce development with process improvement, and establish a culture of excellence.

In September 2006, UST Global received its ISO 27001 certification—recognizing the company’s information security initiative. ISO 27001 aims to ensure that adequate controls addressing confidentiality, integrity and availability of information are in place to safeguard the information of its clients. This certification was renewed in April, 2007.

A new Forrester research report profiles UST as one of the mid-tier global providers that offer high quality IT services as well as flexibility and client service. Also noted is the investment UST Global makes in its people and its "Quality versus quantity" client focus. According to Forrester, "In terms of client relationship management, UST Global's motto seems to be 'fewer clients, more attention.' The company maintains a small but impressive client base, with approximately 50 'tier one' clients. The goal is to eventually grow the business between 90 and 100 accounts, maintaining focus on strategic, long-term, accounts."

Controversy

In early 2008 California arbitrators ruled that US Technology Resources, LLC must pay Stephen J. Ross $7.5 million for his founding interest in the company. US Technology had disputed the extent of Ross's actual contributions. The arbitration award was then confirmed by the Los Angeles Superior Court and judgement entered in Ross' favor. [6][7].
