Malta has entered the Junior Eurovision Song Contest six times since debuting at the first contest in 2003. They have since participated in every contest with no interruption.

Entrants for the Contest are selected in the Junior Song For Europe contest, organised by the Maltese broadcaster PBS.

Malta's best placing in the contest was in 2008, when Daniel Testa came 4th with "Junior Swing". The country's worst placing was in 2005, when Thea & Friends came 16th and last in the contest with "Make It Right".

Curious Facts

  • Sarah Harrison (2003), Thea Saliba (2005) and Daniel Testa (2008) are all related to each other. They are descendents from the Sammy & Doreen Galea family of musicians.
  • Sophie (2006) is the sister of Charlotte Debattista who took part as a member of the Young Talent Team (2004).
  • Francesca and Mikaela (2009) became the first Gozitans to represent Malta in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
