Bhiwandi-Nizampur Municipal Corporation is a civic body formed after dissolution of "BNMC" (Bhiwandi Nizampur Municipal Council) into Corporation by an act of Government Of Maharashtra in 2002 to administer the industrial township of Bhiwandi, which is a city in Thane District in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

The combined population of Bhiwandi-Nizampur and Bhiwandi was 598,703 as of the 2001 Census. The total information is 1,200,000 officially and around 1,500,000 unofficially. It is an industrial and human habitat city. It is well connected through railways and roadways.

It is 47 km away from Mumbai, 17 km from Thane and 15 km from Kalyan. It is a textile city and known as the "Manchester of India".

It has around 15 colleges. The largest college is BNN College. It offers courses up to PG Level in arts, commerce and science, and up to Research level in zoology.
