The majority of the bus services above are operated under contract to Derbyshire County Council and other local authorities, however a number of services such as the 61 between Glossop and Buxton are operated commercially. Until September 2007 the company operated an hourly service between Hayfield and Stockport, Greater Manchester as service 62/62A, however this service was withdrawn to run only as far as Marple due to falling revenues, which was in turn a replacement for withdrawn Stagecoach Manchester service 361 which ran hourly between Glossop and Stockport which had been withdrawn in March 2006. Now the sole direct service between Hayfield and Stockport is the Stagecoach Manchester 358 service which operates via Marple and Offerton, competing directly with Bowers' 62/62A for a small section of the route.

Coach operations

The company's originated with its coach operations hence the title Bowers Coaches but since being taken over by Centrebus the coach trips have been stopped. The company now relies firmly on local services.
