Babe Zaharias

Hey, thank you for the kind words and encouragement! I like your photos, too, but you might want to check the link from your userpage. Looks like a bot gotcha (by accident). Speaking of photos, I'm still trying to get a good public domain pic of her for the piece. -- LisaSmall T/C 00:40, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

England national rugby union team FAC

I was wondering if you could comment at the England national rugby union team's FAC here. Thanks. - Shudde talk 09:08, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Gareth

Some Zionist thug is deleting my improvements to the Menachem Begin page. I detailed Begin's involvement in the Deir Yassin Massacre and the shock it elicited from many Jewish thinkers and leaders including Albert Einstein, Hannah Arendt and others, which is evidenced by a letter they published to the New York Times in December 1948 calling Begin's party a fascist party, accusing Begin of terrorism, and warning the public not to allow Begin to visit the US and not to give money to his party. But the Zionist hooligans on Wikipedia, true to Zionistic smear and intimidation tactics, want to hide the truth. Since I'm new, I need some help: How can I undo their deletions? How can I complain? Thanks, Firstamend 14:38, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Gram parsons.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:Gram parsons.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr If you've written a quality article... 22:56, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ato Bolden

I noticed you added the drug allegations to Maurice Greene. I added details of a letter from Ato Bolden concerning Greene to Boldens page [1], and wondered if you had heard of it? Gareth E Kegg (talk) 23:59, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

None was created by me, but each was entered in the 2001 logo competition, (see m:Logo_suggestions and m:Logo_suggestions/Humorous_logos) and GFDL licensed as part of that procedure. At the end of that competition, Larry Sanger deleted them because he is a humourless tosser. I saved them from deletion because they amused me. -- GWO (talk)

Gareth Owen

Gareth Owen.

Remember 12 December 2001? Creating your own article on Wikipedia, lol. Sorry if this is an unwelcome reminder, I just thought 'blow me, Vales new loan signing is a Wikipedian', obviously I now see that that isn't the case, but 7 years eh? Where does the time go?--EchetusXe (talk) 23:40, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In my defence, that was two months before the User: namespace. But yeah, 2001 and seems a long time ago. -- GWO (talk)

disaster II

Hello Gareth, I am a user from Germany. On another user page I found the bonmot "The problem with Wikipedia is that it only works in practice. In theory, it's a total disaster" and a link to your page. Is this really from you? It is very true and describes exactly what I try to explain to people who are not familiar with wikipedia. Greetings -- Zigg —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.129.105.17 (talk) 13:39, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It does sound like something I might have coined, but to be completely honest, I can't remember anymore. Sorry ;(

The article Rock and roll. has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Pointless typo. No reason for period. No articles linked here. No one would add a period in search.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — The Man in Question (gesprec) · (forðung) 02:20, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Gareth Owen! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 670 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
