Red Vines is a brand of candy manufactured in Union City, California by the American Licorice Company. Red Vines Original Red twists, sometimes known as 'red licorice', resemble American black licorice except that they are red and do not have flavor extracted from the roots of the liquorice plant. The original Red Vines were raspberry-flavored, but in 1952, with a slight formula change, the Red Vines Original Red Twist flavor was introduced. Red Vines red twists appear very similar to Twizzlers candy, but are rounder, chewier and slightly lighter in color.

Red Vines makes a similarly flavored product called Super Ropes, which is a red 34 inch solid rope, popular with children and often sold at fairs and specialty candy shops. Red Vines also offers black licorice twists, sugar free twists, as well as other fruit flavored twists. Red Vines originally became popular in the Western United States, although today it can be found nationwide. The American Licorice Company claims that Red Vines candy is "the number one non-chocolate confection in the West."

Red Vines were mentioned in the song "Lazy Sunday" by The Lonely Island. The popular video (which first aired on Saturday Night Live) spawned the meme "Mr. Pibb+Red Vines=Crazy Delicious". Red Vines were also mentioned repeatedly by Shawn Spencer in the Psych episode He Dead, and in the song "Good Person Inside" by Jill Sobule.

In The Simpsons episode "The Debarted", Bart is seen eating "Blue Vine" candy, a clear spoof of Red Vines. Also, Homer almost kills someone for grabbing Twizzlers instead of Red Vine; it turns out the guy just used the wrong name.

In the SNL Digital Short "Lazy Sunday", Andy Samberg raps that "Mr. Pibb and Red Vines equals crazy delicious".

In Psych, Season 4, Episode 2. Shawn Spencer requests numerous times to be paid in Red Vines.

It is widely believed in popular culture that Red Vines were originally manufactured to reduce stress when consumed. The debate of which is best rages on between those who love Twizzlers and those who love Red Vines.

In Fringe Walter Bishop is regularly seen eating Red Vines, usually during inappropriate times such as in the middle of an autopsy. In the episode Brown Betty he is shown to keep a jar of them among laboratory chemicals.
