Rogelio Gabriel Funes Mori (born May 3, 1991 in Mendoza) is an Argentine football striker, who plays for River Plate. In 2001, he went with his family to live in the United States more accurately to Arlington, Texas.He went to Workman Junior High and Arlington High School in Arlington, Texas playing Soccer with his brother Jose Ramiro Funes Mori Scoring 40 goals in the 2008 season leading his team to District Champions and Area Finalist with a record of 24-2-1. Gabriel and Ramiro, who are mirror image identical twins, also played several seasons for the Associated Soccer Group (ASG) Central Gold 91 team. The club played in the Dallas Cup Tournament in 2008, shortly before his tryout with Chelsea. His coach with ASG was Uche Okafor. He participated in a Reality Show called Sueño MLS, and ended up winning the contest and became part of the lower of FC Dallas. Later, they offered him to go to Chelsea FC, and it happened to be that on his try-outs in England, River Plate's '92 category was there and offered him to go to try-out with the Argentine club of River Plate.He called "toti bellani".

Funes began his young career with River Plate in the Primera División Argentina on 6 December 2009 against Club Atlético Vélez Sársfield in a loss of 3-1.He played the last 2 games that year against Racing Club de Avellaneda and Club Atlético Tigre, in this latest achievement score his first goal in first division soccer.

In the Challenge Cup Mar del Plata Final Against Boca Juniors in Argentina, Funes scored a goal in a win of 3-1, having an outstanding performance.

He was selected to attend the U-20 international tournament in Punta del Este by Sergio Batista, but did not get to because the River Plate coach Leonardo Astrada asked to stay for the pre-season with the club.
