"Pyramid"
Song

"Pyramid" is the lead single of Filipina pop and R&B singer Charice. This song was written by David Jassy, Niclas Molinder, Joacim Persson, Johan Alkenäs, Drew Scott and R&B singer Lyrica Anderson and produced by Twin.[1] A remix was said to be released on iTunes on February 16, 2010 which was later changed to February 23, the same day as the release of the album version. But the album version was delayed and was released on March 2.

Pyramid had already received airplay before it was released to iTunes. It aired on 104.3 in Las Vegas before its release as a single.[2][3] The album version was released to U.S. mainstream radio on March 15, 2010.[4] It is her first single to achieve mainstream airplay.

Music video

The promotional music video for the track was released on March 2, 2010. The video[5] shows Charice and Iyaz in the studio singing and recording the vocals to the song.

The official music video for the track was directed by Scott Speer and released on April 12, 2010, premiering on Oprah Winfrey's website.[6] The video was shot at the Orpheum Theatre, in downtown Los Angeles last March 8. The music video shows Charice holding a microphone as she performs in front of a huge empty theater, implying that she did not make it to the audition call-backs. Iyaz, who is seated in the audience, records her performance using his flip camera and shows that his support for Charice will stay forever—just like a pyramid—no matter what kind of storm or earthquake may come their way.

Live Performances

Charice's first live performance was on the Oprah Winfrey Show with Iyaz last May 11, 2010.[7] She also performed it on QVC with her other singles from her self titled album, Charice such as I Love You, Note To God and In This Song.
