Neville Wran's Marriage

Separation ended. SYDNEY'S most coveted Australia Day ticket is shaping up as the private soiree that powerbrokers Neville Wran and Jill Hickson are planning at their Woollahra home.

The glamorous party will mark the first anniversary of their reunion, following an 18-month estrangement that created headlines in July 2006 after a marriage of almost 30 years.

The former premier, who at 82 is a big wheel in the city's business circles, and his wife, 60, chairwoman of the Historic Houses Trust, recently returned to their favourite holiday spot, Lord Howe Island, to celebrate Christmas and New Year, as they had last year.

As PS has reported, Wran quietly moved back into the family home in Woollahra several months ago. So far neither he nor Hickson has spoken publicly about the status of their marriage, although their bond appears to be strong.
