Hello, two versions:

Target of redirect: Violin concerto

Reason:

  • a) This is the full formal name for this sort of work. Most works colloquially called a "violin concerto" are actually published with that formal title, including on Wikipedia (Google scan)
  • b) Variant capitalization (like Violin Concerto is already a redirect to violin concerto)

Redirect request: d-wave

This request has been declined. Please do not modify it.

Target of redirect: Atomic orbital

Reason: A redirect currently exists, but it points to a Wikipedia page on a private company. The physics concept is the more fundamental. The current redirect results in link errors in science articles, e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BCS_theory .

  • Declined. d-wave → Atomic orbital: As it so happens, that exact dab exists at D-Wave, so I've just redirect this there. Yay, everybody wins!; ~ Amory (utc) 00:29, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  1. REDIRECT Diorhabda carinulata
  • From an alternative name: This is a redirect from a title that is another name or identity such as an alter ego, a nickname, or a synonym of the target, or of a name associated with the target.
    • This redirect leads to the title in accordance with the naming conventions for common names to aid searches and writing. It is not necessary to replace these redirected links with a piped link.
    • If this redirect is an incorrect name for the target, then {{R from incorrect name}} should be used instead.

Category request: "Rother J" The first computer virus

This request has been declined. Please do not modify it.

Parent category/categories:

  • Rother J - Founder of this virus is Richard Skrenta

A program called "Rother J" was the first computer virus to appear "in the wild" — that is, outside the single computer or lab where it was created. Written in 1981 by Richard Skrenta, it attached itself to the Apple DOS 3.3 operating system and spread via floppy disk!
