Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Comment
  1. Why does SineBot keep signing stuff I've already signed?
All comments should have a signature that includes both a link to your user page (slakr) and a datestamp (05:12, 20 August 2007 (UTC)) (per signatures - internal links). This is most easily generated by placing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your contributions, which makes something like "slakr 05:12, 20 August 2007 (UTC)". If you're still having problems after trying that, post a message to slakr.[reply]
  2. I do sign using ~~~~, but the result includes my username as plain text, not as a link.
You have probably changed the format of your signature. Go to "my preferences", then the "User profile" tab, and check the "Signature" field and the "Treat the above as wiki markup" checkbox. If "Treat the above as wiki markup" is checked, then the "Signature" field should contain wikicode, including something like [[User:Your Username|Your Username]]. If "Treat the above as wiki markup" is unchecked, then the "Signature" field should not contain wikicode.
  3. I don't want my comments signed by SineBot. How do I get it to ignore me or my talk page?
Please use one of the opt-out methods listed on its user page.
  4. SineBot forgot to sign something it should have signed.
Usually this happens because the bot isn't sure if it really should sign something, so it defaults to not signing it (e.g., in cases of complex edits). It does this to avoid being annoying. Other times, a comment might be made when the bot is down for maintenance, so the bot simply never sees it.
  5. SineBot signed something that it genuinely should not have signed.
Please let slakr know-- especially if you think it's not a one-time thing.

Uh Oh,

I'm terribly sorry that i've missunderstood. You have taught me a good lesson today. To always sign your username initials when you are on another user's talk page. I thank you very much with greed and promise.

WMAQ former on air talent list

Hello SineBot Thanks for your message I didn't know about that. I was wondering if I could get your opinion in my favor. On the WMAQ former personalites, editors keep deleting all the names posted and I don't feel it is right. You had made some adjustments to the industry jargon on that page and I respected and agreed with your decision. I was wondering if you could write a statement in favor of the 98.223.95.42 edits posted on the village link on the discussion page. The person took a lot of time and effort into the list. We just need a few more in our favor and the edits will be reverted back to the way it should. Or if you just want to revert it back yourself. Ask any other editors you know if they could sign it too. Thanks so much--TVFAN24 (talk) 17:43, 19 June 2010 (UTC)TVFAN24 (talk) 23:07, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
