Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao (Telugu: కల్వకుంట్ల చంద్రశేఖర రావు) (born 17 February 1954) abbreviated KCR, is a member of the 15th Lok Sabha of India.[1] He is a Member of Parliament from the Mahaboobnagar constituency of Andhra Pradesh and is the president of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. He was the cabinet minister for Labour and Employment.
Early life
Rao was born in Chintamadaka village near Siddipet in Medak district. [2] He did his Masters in Telugu Literature. He began as an immigration agent and is popularly known as Dubai Chandrashekar. He is one of the best speakers in the contemporary indian politics,he can speak telugu,hindhi,urdu and english fluently.Infact his speaking and persuasion skills made him to come up with telangana slogan and become successful when the rest of the world has forgotten or dont even know about telangana.
Political career
He was a member of the Telugu Desam Party and served as Deputy Speaker until he resigned from the party,there were many rumours and reasons for his resignation supporters of KCR or TRS say that telangana leaders were not given enough importance in the party,they say most of the TDP party is like NTR'S family business,opponents of KCR or TRS Say that he left the party since he couldnt get the post he wanted. He wanted a Minister post in the cabinet as opposed to the deputy speaker that he has been offered. Stating this reason he had resigned from the party and established TRS. One of his well known feature is that "not standing by what he says". He had announed that now TRS had gathered enough m omentum as a party and do not need any support from any party in polls. But less than one months time he is carving for the support of BJP and seeking help from BJP cadre to support him the bypolls in month of July 2010. Many political analysts predict that his political career will come to an end after the Telengana by-elections where the TRS is expected to lose atleast 5-6 seats because of it going to the elections purely with the so called Telengana sentiment.
Fast unto death
K. Chandrasekhar Rao, launched a fast-unto-death demanding separate Telangana. He ended his 11 days long fast after the Government of India announced on December 9th, 2009 to initiate the process of state of Telangana .“The process of forming the state of Telangana will be initiated. An appropriate resolution will be moved in the state assembly,” Home Minister P. Chidambaram said in a statement in the national capital. But later it was successfully proved by Mr. Lagadapati Rajagopal the MP of Vijayawada constituency that he had consumed "Total Parental Nutrition" which would have allowed him to continue the Unto death for even 30 years without losing life. This had whipped up a massive anger from people of state of andhra pradesh for playing a practical joke with their sentiments. He had propagated falsified statistics and irrational incidents to instigate the people of Telangana before they actually started absorbing the thruths ever since the Justice Srikrishna COmmittee has taken stance. Now he has crossed his fingures for the By-poles in Telengana in the Month of July. So far his instigated activity groups have created hurror in the lives of people of Andhra Pradesh, its the time to watch out for True Telanganaite's reaction.
However one must admit and admire his guts. He has been the face of the hurror in the state. If Telangana has been formed, then there are so many people to steel the credit away from him, in case Telangana is not formed or delayed, he would alone pay the price for every single instance of disambiguation over Telangana.
