Hear, hear! You DO deserve your own day. You're a star in the Wikipedia firmament! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 00:19, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How about "Historical Population of Canada", or "Demographic History of Canada". I just don't like the current title. thoughts? Slaja (talk) 18:51, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Historical population of Canada" - this sounds great!! Moxy (talk) 01:23, 3 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

La Historie de Nord Amerique

Moxy, how it's so strange that many, many US Americans think 4 July 1776 is the date of their independence, when in factual actuality the correct date is 14 January 1784 (treaty ratification, a la Treaty of Paris, 1783)! Well, so be it! Best, --Discographer (talk) 03:18, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Declaring one's independence (which is a declaration) is one thing, but achieving it (having it officialised) is another! Remember this. Best, --Discographer (talk) 03:32, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Moxy, I think you did a great job with this! I don't know if you remember after I finished colourising the wikitables in The Beatles discography (yes, my brother, it was me who colourised everything - based exactly on the infobox, that was my intention) and adding b-sides to the singles section, and just completely doing everything against standard procedure, to make this the greatest and best-looking discography in the entire history of Wikipedia. Then I put it up for nomination with John Cardinal's blessing, only to find that it would not achieve FA status because it doesn't look like all the other discographies! I could not believe it, the best discography not going to FA status. I was told that it did not follow the "rules", of which I told them I was setting a new standard to be followed! It was then that I realised I best withdraw my nomination because their was no way I was going to change a thing - absolutely no way, even if it cost the Featured Article status, well, so be it! They wanted it to look like everything else, but that's getting bland, because the best group of all-time deserves the best (and best-looking) discography of all-time! Just like your magnificent portal, all the best creations never make it to FA status, because they're the best! (better than the "standard"). I'm going to work with you on other projects that are going to be the best! - so that way everything we create and do will never get nominated to Featured Article status! Cheers my friend! Best, --Discographer (talk) 23:04, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well thank you ....it is odd i have done 50+ portals and have never gotten any to FA level ...they passed Portal:Sharks its looks odd..o well all that the guy said is right i guess ...but not helpfull after i have built it ...no way i am going to edit 500+ pages just to look like others....Again thanks you have made me still want to make more. Wikipedia:Featured portal candidates/Portal:Canada

It is difficult to read this page, as you have interspersed your replies and broken up comments made by other editors. Can you please move your reply comments, below the comments of other editors, so that the original comments can be read uninterrupted? Thank you, -- Cirt (talk) 00:30, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

pls just close it.. i am moving on...i have reverted the edits...going back to FA articles as they have a proper system..its odd because i copied what i saw in the portals you got to FA level..well i guess that was some time ago and things changed .... Moxy (talk) 00:57, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Moxy, have you given up on Template:Monarchy of Canada sidebar? I made a first suggestion at its talk page. --Ħ MIESIANIACAL 15:22, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Celine Dion "Soundscan" deletion

I understand the need to keep the lead section relevant to Dion's status as a Canadian artist, but I don't understand why any mention of her non-Canadian or non-French-language accolades cannot be showcased. Regardless of her nationality, I think it (regarding the Soundscan figure) is an achievement that should be mentioned. There's info of her receiving Grammy Awards, which is an American-born, internationally recognized award-giving body. I don't see why Nielson Soundscan is any different. I chose not to revert your edit because I wanted to hear your reasons for it on here. That said, I fully respect your edits and greatly appreciate what you have to offer, here on Wikipedia. However, this is just one small issue I have. I welcome any comments you wish to make. Thank you. BalticPat22Patrick 15:59, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OOOOOOOOOOO i though that other guy added that...if you think its best put i back..all my fault!!!Moxy (talk) 21:13, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Haha, it's okay. No harm, no foul. BalticPat22Patrick 18:40, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Quebec region portals

I noticed that you went ahead of me with the regions of Quebec portals I started. So far, all these portals are still categorized to be invisible. But I guess they can be made "live" right away, despite their being so minimalistic. :-)

However, I foresee a problem with using Portal:Canada's Related portals template: there are 17 regions of Quebec. Some regions have so few articles at this point that it is likely that I will only be able to make about 10 decent portals. But 10 is already too much for the current "Cities & Regions" column of Portal:Canada's Related portals template. That is why I started a Related portals template for Quebec, which is already what was done in French Wikipedia, to solve somewhat the same problem:

The portals I have on my todo list (I should say my English Wikipedia todo list because I am being kept quite busy with work in French Wikipedia at the moment!) are here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Mathieugp/drafts#Portals

So I think I should continue to add icons to Quebec's related portals template as I create more region portals. When I have created about 10 such portals, I will reinsert that template on all Quebec region portals. Any objection? -- Mathieugp (talk) 17:13, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have np with that... was just trying to get some traffic to them..but what you have inmind sounds great.. Lets start the page Portal:Quebec/Related portals  !! Moxy (talk) 21:12, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Moxy, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Portal:HealthLink BC, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The reason given is not a valid speedy deletion criterion. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. mono(how's my driving?) 01:30, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have used this reasons for more then 100 portals since 2006..however i guess this could change, but are you saying its not up for deletion anymore, just cause you dont like the reason ???? Oops i mean thank you for fixing the tag LOL ..i have also added it to Portal:Telehealth !!Moxy (talk) 01:32, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Portal:Telehealth does however look completely useless. It looks like an attempt to create a redirect. If you see a portal that should be an article feel free to move it to a correct name like I did. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 01:49, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

NP that was great of you to move it..Moxy (talk) 01:50, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Question?

Well, I'd be willing to try, but not for about a month - I'm on vacation from July 26 - August 16, and beginning July 16 I'll be on the support crew for this crazy trip. I'll probably be editing sporadically during both periods, but I'm not sure how much time / Internet access I'll have, and for an RfA I'd definitely want to be available to respond to concerns. I'd be glad to try after that though - thanks! Nikkimaria (talk) 00:24, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Credit where credit is due

I had my name on the article as a source it does need to be placed back up there. I am an author and historian!!!!! That is why I am President of the organization. Now do we need to discuss crediting for work? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Varoots2002 (talkcontribs) 12:28, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok lets add it back ...could you give me the title..year published and ISBN # Moxy (talk) 14:21, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Moxy, thanks for responding, give me a couple of days to get it together. As a Librarian I will tell you that not everything written has an ISBN. I am not sure if you noticed that I re-wrote the entire article not just his name. We would like to include a picture of the chapel, but by time I get home I am really tired and can't figure out the coding. Please do not refer me to that page thing. Is there some way that you can write out the code and explain where it is to be placed?

Spam ads

Please note I'm simply adding to the topic of Winnipeg. Whats the problem with that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rallytron (talkcontribs) 17:24, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are not allowed to revert more them 3 times ..clearly waht your adding is an ad and not valid info. You have been told and shown with links what is wrong, but you seem to not understand. I am not sure we will deal with this much longer. Moxy (talk) 17:27, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

~~Rallytron~~ Why are you removing what I have wrote about the speedway?
