Proposed deletion of Newton Estape Vila

Notability of Newton Estape Vila

A tag has been placed on Newton Estape Vila requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Hatoulah (talk) 07:07, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You indicated in 2008 that you contested this deletion and wanted to reedit the article but it hasn't been done and has been proposed for deletion again. You might want to contest again or edit the article.

University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas

Hi Callelinea, do you know the location (latitude and longitude coords) for the University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas (UCLV) article? I looked on Google maps but couldn't identify it. cheers Wikityke (talk) 17:08, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Joe Garcia

Please stop. If you continue to blank out or delete portions of page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did to Joe Garcia, you will be blocked from editing. Clean Hialeah (talk) 20:59, 1 September 2008 (UTC) (please stop removing content)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Joe Garcia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. I didn't know about this rule, but we've both violated it.

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you delete or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia, as you did to Joe Garcia, you will be blocked from editing.

Re-insert the material until we both discuss it on the talk page, or I will file a complaint for vandalism.

SurveUSA Poll

Look, where SurveyUSA got its list of voters from is irrelevant (and not at issue). I don't know how many times I have to go over this, but the district profile used by the poll differs from the census data. Go here <<http://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReport.aspx?g=ac8793ef-2899-49d0-a960-a1be2ff279b6>> and look at the part labeled "Composition of Likely Voters" in question number 2. See it? In the area that asks people their race, you will see that 34% of respondents said that they were "Cuban" and 17% of respondents identified themselves as "Non-Cubans." Adding these two figures shows that the poll's sample group was 51% Hispanic. This figure differs from the 69.7% given in the Census data. This is not rocket science...Any further questions just ask before plowing ahead with edits.Clean Hialeah (talk) 23:55, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Salvador Pardo Cruz

A tag has been placed on Salvador Pardo Cruz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Orphaned non-free image (File:Anamartinez.jpg)

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Anamartinez.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 17:11, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Saw the new picture you uploaded of Pedro Zamora - thank you for that. It's an incredibly moving image. Tabercil (talk) 04:48, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ditto. It's a lovely picture, and really adds to that section. :-) Nightscream (talk) 14:59, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
On looking at it more, the only regret I have is that it's not bigger, otherwise I'd be tempted to nominate it for featured picture... Tabercil (talk) 02:21, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Callelinea, this article needs pictures, can you upload some decent pics? I did Christopher Columbus High School page. I am not an alumni and I don't have kids there (I wish my son could go there though). I have a friend who is a teacher there and I did the page as a birthday present for him. Vote Re CC origins and historians differing POV's

Hello Callelinea, sorry to bother you but we are having a vote on the Catholic Church page regarding whether or not to include the dispute among historians regarding the Church origins. Can you please come an give us your vote so we can come to consensus? Vote is taking place here [2] Thanks! NancyHeise talk 03:37, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, gosh, wow, I haven't seen you around in a long time! Thanks for coming by! How's everything with you down in Miami? Were you in one of those parishes that got converged with another? NancyHeise talk 05:13, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is María del Carmen Martínez-Bordiú y Franco. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/María del Carmen Martínez-Bordiú y Franco. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:14, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Callelinea! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 725 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Jorge I. Dominguez - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Malena Burke - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

You have such great sources, can you find anything on Carlos Alzugarai, Jules Loustalot, Enrique Quintana, Moisés Boudé, Domingo Romeo Jaime, Oscar Poey Bonachea, Virgilio Morales Díaz, José Borrel Tudurí, Celina Cardoso, and Angel Loustalot? --Chris (クリス • フィッチュ) (talk) 07:55, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, you are a member of the Wikiproject Catholicism. We would appreciate your help. Please take a look at this article about the catholic bishop Alfred_Seiwert-Fleige . Users deleted sources and tried to force their anti-catholic POV on it. They banned many people that tried to add sources. They didnt block me or Eastmain, but they deleted our sources we gave too. It appears that they don't like this catholic bishop.

Best version until now with 13 sources: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Alfred_Seiwert-Fleige&diff=343039227&oldid=343037941

And after deleting the sources: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Alfred_Seiwert-Fleige&action=historysubmit&diff=343481960&oldid=343039227

(At first they had planned on deleting the whole article but it didnt work)

Check out at the information on these other wikipedia articles about Seiwert Fleige and compare them to the info that is on there now. You will notice that its quite the oposite:

Pedro Zamora pic

Hiya... can I get some details behind the pic you uploaded of Pedro Zamora, the one that currently acts as the image in the infobox? There's a deletion request on Commons (here) and I think getting details from you on the hows of the pic might be sufficient to clear it up. Tabercil (talk) 00:10, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Newbie

Hi Calle Linea, I am brand spanking new but ready to help....Particularly if I may remain neutral..:-) Sabes....I am an author with two books on Cuba, my first trip was 1994, I have spent at least three months a year since then Soy un Yuma. I have been to every province on the island many times. I am also an Awo, so I can help with the religion area. My problem is the tech side, I am not a geek... and I hire editors, as I am lazy. However despite these shortcomings, I am confident that I can contribute. I really do not know exactly how to help and I am hoping that you might facilitate that. I decided that the best way to learn was to offer myself up for adoption....que pena. I hope I am doing this right, but probably not. Let me know how I can help on projects that you are NOT in a hurry with. Cubaking (talk) 12:47, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please help

Please help. On my talkpage, a very dedicated Cuban editor not proficient with English, as I am not proficient in Spanish, believes there is an issue, where I see none, but want to help. Can you take a look? There are three sections for some reason. User talk:Kintetsubuffalo#Sobre Playa Mayabeque--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 09:34, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is presently a subsection, I don't understand. It was a description in the original disambig, once the article was created, it was part of it. Rogelio removed the lead paragraph, I replaced it, then I saw what he was talking about, and removed the Scout stuff from the lead. From then I thought no problem, is there something I missed?--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 04:16, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Guillermo B. Aguilera y Sanchez

".... Do you happen to know the birthdate of the Senator and where and when he died? I'm doing an article on him. Thanks.. Callelinea (talk) 22:13, 1 August 2010 (UTC)....."

I will have to get back to you on this one..... My family suffers from collective amnesia..... :-) Alberto Guillermo Fariñas y Aguilera.... Albie —Preceding unsigned comment added by Albiegf13 (talkcontribs) 19:34, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I will try to get as much info as possible I have a few old pics of "Pivi", as we called him and as soon as I have some time available I get them to you somehow..... I'm not too familiar with this Wiki template, it took me a while to get to this talk feature...... How about La Mansion....? I saw that you did some work on that site.... Guillermo Aguilera my grandfather was the last resident of that property, he was married to Elena Aguilera Pollack. I was the one who made the original change to the "La Mansion" (where did they get that "fancy" name...? tacky...! Sounds like some Cuban Liberace lives there). There are many inaccuracies in that piece, however, my main reason was to let this Henry Pollack character know that "we the heirs of Elena Aguilera, have noticed his arrogant presumptions". Anyway, I don't care about "La Mansion". So far as I'm concerned, If Henry wants it, he can move into it tomorrow. Of course my cousins and brothers may think otherwise. I stayed at the house for a couple of days last November and I have to tell you, I was not impressed. It would have been better if they would have left it in ruins, it's the worst restoration I've ever seen. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Albiegf13 (talkcontribs) 23:27, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes Henry is pompous. I used to work with him at Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen. I knew his grand-mother, Chita (your grand-uncle's widow). I saw "La Mansion" once when it was abandoned in 1995, went inside to explore it, since Henry had told me about it. So after Mark A. Pollack died in 1946, your grandparents moved in there? Did they live there before he died? How is it that your grandmother got the house and not Mark Jr. and his wife the "Condesa"? Yea the name sucks, afterall there are lots of other mansions in Havana. But I guess if they called it the Pollack Mansion, that would be admitting that the Pollacks might have some rights to it. I did the original article on "La Mansion" on Mark A. Pollack and now on your grandfather. I like to do articles on Cuban persons or places in Cuba. Callelinea (talk) 23:45, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tio Markito had a ranch, I can't remember exactly where it was, I went there a couple of times as a child with my uncle Guillo, his nephew, to ride. I also went to a house with my Tia Peppita Casuso, Mark Pollack's sister in law, somewhere in Havana, that was filled with trophies from his safaris in Africa. There was an urban legend that Tio Markito upon returning from one of his safaris, brought back a lion cub and it got loose in the lobby at the Plaza Hotel. One of my partners an old timer in NY told me that after that incident, a sign was placed at the Central Park South, entrance of the Plaza that read "NO LIONS ALOWED IN LOBBY".... I found the story amusing and almost believed it because Tio Makito was a real rascal. I didn't know him very well but I liked him a lot because he was a lot of fun and a real ball buster, in a good way.... He always made me ride the wild horses and then he and my uncle Guillo would laugh their asses off when I would get thrown. Fond memories of those guys, lots of laughs.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Albiegf13 (talkcontribs) 00:17, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also: The answer to your question is yes.... My Grandmother and Grandfather lived there with their children before Mark Pollack died in 1946..... I don't know where Roberto and Chita lived, I can't remember ever having met Roberto, although I'm sure I did.....
