"The Grave Shift"

"The Grave Shift" is the 11th episode of season 9 of the American television crime drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. It first aired on 22 January 2009 and is the 193rd episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. It is the first episode to star Laurence Fishburne as CSI Raymond Langston, and the first episode of CSI in which Gil Grissom does not make an appearance in the main titles. It is also the first episode written by writing partners David Weddle and Bradley Thompson.

Plot

Dr. Raymond Langston's first day on the job turns into an adventure when he and Nick investigate a robbery case. Just before entering the house, an explosion occurs somewhere across town and they see fireball and smoke on the horizon. After getting fingerprints and interviewing the owner of the house, Langston and Nick drive to the explosion site where Brass tells them that the LVPD had received an emergency call from the house. The evidence collected seem to suggest that the arson and robbery cases are connected. Now they have to track down the masterminds behind it.
