Puri Jagannath (Template:Lang-te), born 28 September 1966, is a prominent Tollywood film director and producer. He is also a two time Nandi Award recipient.[2]
Background
His directorial debut Badri, starred Pawan Kalyan in the lead role and Renu Desai, Prakash Raj, and Bollywood actress Amisha Patel in the supporting roles.
Later on he floated his own film production house Vaishno Academy. His production house went on to produce hit films such as Idiot, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, Shivamani 9848022338, and Pokiri (which went on to be the biggest hit of Telugu film).
His recent film was Chiruta, with Ram Charan Teja and Neha Sharma in the lead roles. The film was Ram charan's debut film who is the son of retired hero Chiranjeevi.
Jagannadh directed Ram Charan Teja's first film Chiruta and C. Ashwini Dutt produced the film under Vyjayanthi Movies.
His Pokiri was his first movie which had a silver jubilee run at the box-office. Pokiri even completed 200 days and Completed 562 days in Kurnool.
His next film with Prabhas titled Bujjigadu - Made In Chennai was released on 23 May 2008 and the film was hailed by critics as Prabhas' best performance but the film achieved moderate success at the box office.
His next film Neninthe with Ravi Teja was released on 18 December 2008 and the film took satisfactory openings but later was declared an average film in Puri's career after delivering a hat-trick with Raviteja.
His next film with Prabhas titled Ek Niranjan and the film was below average.
Puri usually uses fights master such as: Vijayan, Allan Amin, and Vijay. Vijayan also popularly work's for Puri's films. He composed the fights for Pokiri, Desamuduru, Chiruta, and Bujjigadu.
