Lee Jinki (Hangul: 이진기; born December 14th, 1989), better known by his stage name Onew (Hangul: 온유; Hanja: 温流), is a South Korean pop singer. Debuting in 2008 as the leader of K-pop group SHINee, he has since branched out into musicals, MC-ing and acting.
Career

Onew was discovered at the 2006 S.M. Academy Casting.[1] After training for two years, he became the leader of SHINee, who debuted in 2008 with the song "Noona Neomu Yeppeo (Replay)" ("누난 너무 예뻐 (Replay)", lit. "Older Girl, You're So Pretty (Replay)"). Since then, they have released 2 albums and numerous mini albums that were commercial successes.
Other activites
The singer contributed to singles for Lee Hyeon-ji (for "Vanilla Love Part 2") and Girls' Generation member Jessica for the song "One Year Later" in the Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) mini-album.[2]
Onew also starred in various musicals starting in 2010, debuting in the musical Hyeongjeneun Yonggamhaetda (형제는 용감했다, "Brothers were Brave") alongside singer Lee Ji-Hoon.[3] He then starred in the Korean production of Rock of Ages playing the lead role, Drew..[4]
In addition to music, Onew has become an MC on two programs — SBS's Yahaengseong[5] and MBC's Show! Music Core.[6]
Recently, he has also showcased his acting skills via television having a cameo role of a clumsy doctor in the drama Dr. Champ. He appeared in the drama's final episode. [7]
He also was in the 2010 reality tv show "Hello Baby" along with the other members of SHINee. THey had to take care of a 3 year old baby boy named Yoogeun. The SHINee appas immediately fell in love with this baby and wanted to be good to him. Onew had a hard time getting close to Yoogeun though. He had a hard time going near him, though he very much wanted to hold him and hug him. Yoogeun loved Onew from the start. Though Onew never went near him Yoogeun recognized only him and Key. By the end of Hello Baby, Onew was able to hold Yoogeun.
