Ice Age: Continental Drift, (also known as Ice Age 4), is an upcoming 3D computer animated film directed by Steve Martino and Mike Thurmeier, starring the voices of Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary and Queen Latifah.
It is the fourth installment of the Ice Age series, will be produced by Blue Sky Studios and distributed by 20th Century Fox.[1] It will be the second Ice Age installment that will utilize Digital 3D. It's scheduled for a worldwide release in theaters on July 13, 2012.
Synopsis
The official synopsis which was added to Apple Trailers follows:
- "One of filmdom's most beloved trios - 'Ice Age's' Manny, Diego, and Sid-embark upon their greatest adventure after cataclysm sets an entire continent adrift. Separated from the rest of the herd, they use an iceberg as a makeshift ship, which launches them on an epic seafaring quest to find the others. Manny and the gang are challenged like never before to become heroes and do the impossible, as they encounter exotic sea creatures, explore a brave new world, and battle ruthless pirates. And Scrat's reunion with his cursed nut catapults him to places no prehistoric squirrel has gone before."[2]

The film's cast members are currently in negotiations.[3][4] The following cast have been confirmed as of September 4, 2010.[5]

Jennette McCurdy is said to be voicing in the film, but her role is yet to be told. Originally she was going to voice Peaches, but the role was already taken by Keke Palmer as of 2011.[7][8]
Seann William Scott and Josh Peck were confirmed to reprise their roles as Crash and Eddie on December 20, 2010.[9]
Development
The first details of the Ice Age: Continental Drift were revealed on January 10, 2010. The New York Times reported that Blue Sky Studios was working on a fourth film, and was in negotiations with the voice cast.[10] 20th Century Fox later confirmed on May 5, 2010 that Ice Age: Continental Drift would be released on July 13, 2012.[11] On December 19, 2010, 20th Century Fox released the first screenshot.[12] On January 6, 2011, a 2-minute teaser trailer titled "Scrat's Continental Crack Up" was released on YouTube.
An early poster of the film was reviled at the 2010 Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas.[13]
